If You Missed This Midcentury Modern, Here’s Your Second Chance

Love at first sight can be brutal. That’s especially true in real estate.

Truly, if you fall in love with a home in this market, you have to act fast and outbid everyone else who fell for it, too. It’s like an episode of The Bachelor, except it’s many would-be homeowners wooing sellers with crazy-high bids to secure the house they love. However, if you don’t get a rose in this instance, you have to resign yourself to the purgatory of the home search yet again.

See what I mean? Brutal.

But for those who believe in second chances in love will adore this news: The stunning Midcentury Modern at 7236 Edgerton Dr. is back on the market after 18 months.

A job change is what brought this gorgeous, updated Midcentury Modern back to MLS. Otherwise, the sellers wouldn’t be moving an inch. Just from a cursory glance, it’s easy to see why you’d never want to leave this 1955 vintage home.

Not only does it have four bedrooms, three baths, and more than 2,000 square feet, but the sellers took a good idea and made it better by expanding the outdoor living space, said listing agent Sandra McKimmey of the Winans group at Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate.

“The sellers expanded the backyard entertaining area to include dining space,” McKimmey said. “They loved to entertain in the fabulous space. The easy flow from kitchen to patio, comfortable seating area with lights above, and grilling area made for easy entertaining most months of the year.”

And who wouldn’t want to entertain in this sleek Midcentury Modern? Apparently, everyone does because McKimmey’s phone has been ringing off the hook about it.

“Activity has been bananas with 38 scheduled showings in 24 hours of going active on the market,” she said.

Of course, there are few truly well-done updated Midcentury Modern homes in Dallas, and this one is so spectacular that it would be offensive if there wasn’t a rush on it. I mean, with those beautiful floors, that epic kitchen, and the lovely primary suite, you’d be crazy not to fall in love. And this house makes it easy, too. Even McKimmey’s in love with her listing.

“I love all the natural light in the house,” McKimmey counted off, “the fountains, and the landscape lighting.”

You’ll probably find something to fall in love with here, too.

Sandra McKimmey of the Winans Group at Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate has listed 7236 Edgerton at $589,900.
