Historic Neighborhood, Historic ColorsBlue Home With Vintage Features

They don’t paint them like they used to, do they?  Drive through any “vintage-inspired” new development — you know the ones that claim to be designed after great neighborhoods of the 1920s and 1930s — and you’ll see the same few shades of white, cream, or gray.  What about blue?!

Yes, BLUE.  They don’t paint homes blue or yellow, or a tasteful shade of green anymore.  Why not?

Like all Craftsman-inspired homes, 1824 Alston Avenue has an inviting front porch.

Probably because today’s builders are too afraid that the public won’t like the color and the home will sit on the market … but I would contend that homes of those hues would spark the interest of the paying public and would not languish on the market at all.

Historic Neighborhood, Historic Colors

Walk through the historic Fairmount neighborhood in Fort Worth and you’ll find all sorts of colors. Back in the 1920s when many of those homes were built, I guess people were more daring or bold.

You can’t miss the home at 1824 Alston Avenue in Fairmount.  Located on the corner of Alston Avenue and Richmond, the home is not only a beautiful example of Craftsman architecture and design … it’s also blue!

This vintage home has original hardwood floors and many updated fixtures – best of both worlds

Entering the home, you’ll find walls also painted blue, and it’s beautiful.  Gray might be the color du jour for 2017 and 2018, but blue will never go out of style when done correctly.

Blue Home With Vintage Features

This 2,108-square-foot home with three bedrooms and two-and-one-half bathrooms is historic and eye catching on the outside as well as the inside.

Original hardwood floors, complete with scuffs, creaks and squeaks that make them authentic, are found on the first and second floors.

Vintage tiles and fixtures are placed throughout the home — they look old but many are brand new — giving the home a nostalgic look and feel.

Finally, the home has both front-and-rear staircases, and the upstairs can serve as a large master suite and closet should it be needed.

This blue charmer at 1824 Alston Avenue is listed for $410,000 by Ashley Robbins Gonzalez of The Robbins Group and Williams Trew Real Estate.  Please contact Ashley for a private showing.  You might even start seeing more homes painted blue.
