If you need a proper vacation but don’t want to leave the country, you can still have a great time in Texas. This month we found a great luxury vacation property in San Antonio and a very romantic one in Fredricksburg.
Family Reunion? Inn on the Riverwalk Is Perfection
Who doesn’t love the San Antonio Riverwalk? It’s a great spot to reunite with family you have not seen during the pandemic. Most of us want a more intimate experience than one of the large hotels when we need to have quality catch-up time. The Inn on the Riverwalk is a 1916 Victorian bed and breakfast and it is absolute perfection. You can accommodate 16 family members in 13 ensuite guest rooms. This is a traditional bed and breakfast with daily towel service, free parking, and breakfast provided every morning.

Our Victorian homes were constructed in 1916, nestled into surrounding trees, and elevated just above the San Antonio Riverwalk. Guests of the Inn feel as though they are hidden away right in the heart of the city! This is a great area for people who like to walk or bike. Lots to see and enjoy. Walk right out our front doors and enjoy taking a leisure stroll on the beautiful Riverwalk to the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center or go enjoy some of San Antonio’s best restaurants, shops & museums. Take in the Alamo and the San Antonio Missions and see why they earned UNESCO’s World Heritage site status. Take it up to the street level and see Main Plaza at night, renowned French artist Xavier De Richemont projects “San Antonio The Saga” on the façade of the San Fernando Cathedral.

For a ten-day stay, you score a 10 percent weekly discount. With cleaning, taxes, and service fees, this luxury vacation for 16 runs $28,076. If you don’t have 16 folks to travel with, guest suites are available individually. For another option, the innkeeper has another property called The Blue Cottage directly across the street!
Head to Fredericksburg For a Romantic Retreat at East Creek Cottage

Seriously, it’s time to let grandma and grandpa enjoy the kids while you get a much-deserved escape. This luxury vacation property is a charming century-old cottage and only a few blocks to Fredricksburg’s Main Street. What caught my eye is the outdoor clawfoot tub and shower!

East Creek Cottage is a luxury experience. Enjoy naps on the screened porch daybed swing, moonlit outdoor showers & bubble baths in a clawfoot tub, and kicking back in the “whiskey shed.” BBQ on a Traeger under a massive shade tree, gather around a firepit, and dine under an outdoor chandelier. We have thought of everything to help you escape and create lifelong memories.
The reclaimed wood beams, antique metal ceiling tiles, vintage glass transoms, chandeliers adorning every room, and stunning yet cozy furnishings will make you feel as if you have stepped into the pages of a luxury magazine.

A ten-night stay at East Creek Cottage including service fees, taxes, and cleaning fees is $10,510. The cottage sleeps eight in three bedrooms, but think hard about if you really want to bring family and friends along. This is truly a romantic respite, and you deserve it!
