We’ve been hearing for a while that Red Oak and neighboring Glenn Heights were becoming extremely popular with families looking to stretch their housing dollar, land in good schools, and still have a decent commute to the downtown and uptown Dallas areas.
But that was really brought home this week when we decided to look there for our Weekend One Hundred, and found that nearly everything listed had a pending offer. So yeah, Red Oak? Red hot.
That being said, we did find a great home in the Fox Hollow addition, located at 316 Valley Ridge Drive. On paper, this 1,526 square foot home has two bedrooms and two baths, but a study can easily be turned into a third bedroom to accommodate a larger family.
And bonus, there are two living areas, which means you can have an adult space and a more family-friendly space. There might be a few things here and there you’d eventually want to upgrade, but that’s the beauty of the $100,000 to $200,000 price point — you can save some money and take on new projects over time, making the house your own.
Outside, the backyard has some great shade and what appears to be some great spots for gardening, and it’s private, thanks to an eight-foot board-on-board fence.
Red Oak ISD received a B rating from the Texas Education Agency, and is highly-regarded, too.
The home is listed for $199,900 by Kimberly Rumfield with Keller Williams Realty Ellis County. Want to see more? Click here.
