Dallas ISD’s Jack Lowe Elementary Makes 180 in Four Years

Four years ago, if we had told you that we were going to talk about Jack Lowe Elementary and laud it, you might have been taken aback. Nowadays, it’s more unusual not to talk about the amazing turnaround of the little school that could.

The school was ranked as one of the state’s 50 lowest performing schools four years ago, but this year, they’re not only an A rated school by the state, but they’re a nominee for a national Blue Ribbon.

The turnaround is a complete 180 for this school in Vickery Meadows — and next year, the school will be an Innovation campus with personalized learning. We’ve written about the school before, in fact, in a piece warning house-hunters and Realtors to put less credence in GreatSchools rankings, because Jack Lowe Elementary was a great example of why.

But when we found that it was the focus of this week’s Dallas ISD best school, we had a bit of a problem — you see, the tiny footprint for Jack Lowe Elementary is pretty much exclusively rental apartments and townhomes.

However, just like the school we’re talking about, we adapted, and focused in on an apartment community within the footprint — The Pearl at Midtown.

There are three floor plans and tons of amenities in this community, from a 400 square foot studio to a more family-friendly two-bedroom, two-bath with rents from $1,300.

All of the units offer nine-foot ceilings, lots of natural light, easy-to-clean ceramic tile flooring, kitchens that are open to the living areas, and balconies.

Amenity-wise, the community boasts both an indoor heated pool and an outdoor pool, gated and covered parking, a fitness facility, lots of common areas, and its also pet-friendly.
