Casa Linda Home Shows Off Cute Style, Goes Under Contract in Two Days

1735-Crowberry-ACasa Linda is one of East Dallas’ treasured neighborhoods. The houses in this area are generally on half-acre and larger lots, almost all built in the 1940s and 1950s, just east and south of White Rock Lake. You’ll find a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, lots of mature shade trees, winding roads, and close proximity to the Dallas Arboretum and the historic Casa Linda Plaza.

Today’s Tuesday Two Hundred is located at 1735 Crowberry Dr., near Peavy and Oates. It’s a 3-2 with 1,576 square feet and charm to spare. 1735-Crowberry-AThis cutie was built in 1958 and is pretty inside and out, with lovely curb appeal, a well-appointed interior, and nice backyard. It’s less than two miles from White Rock Lake and offers easy access to downtown, too.

This home was listed last week by Kerry Slaughter with Paradise Slaughter Real Estate for $235,000. It went under contract in two days, so let’s take a look before this one is off the market.

Past owners have updated the space to include recessed lights. The staging does an excellent job of showing off the room’s potential, without being distracting. 1735-Crowberry-A 1735-Crowberry-J 1735-Crowberry-K 1735-Crowberry-L 1735-Crowberry-M 1735-Crowberry-NThe kitchen and breakfast rooms are surprisingly large, and show off a recent remodel. New lights and lots of windows make the space bright and welcoming, as does that fabulous stained butcher block counter near the stove. Stainless steel appliances include a gas range, and a new backsplash looks sharp. This area has a ton of storage and cabinets, and lots of room for a large kitchen table.

A nearby utility room offers full-size washer and dryer hookups. 1735-Crowberry-O 1735-Crowberry-P 1735-Crowberry-A 1735-Crowberry-A 1735-Crowberry-A 1735-Crowberry-A 1735-Crowberry-AThe three bedrooms are era-appropriate (they didn’t build sprawling bedrooms in the 1950s), and the hardwood floors, fresh paint, and inspired staging show off their best features and potential uses.

The guest bathroom was recently renovated, and looks cute with beadboard and vintage tile. The master bathroom is dated, but clean and functional, with new drawer pulls and handles. 1735-Crowberry-A 1735-Crowberry-W 1735-Crowberry-XThe yard is a nice, open space, with a detached two-car garage. Near the patio is a covered hot tub area, and out in the yard is a fire pit. The chain link fence is a bit of a bummer, but vines have grown over it and it’s less harsh.

It’s no wonder this Casa Linda home went under contract so quickly: it’s cute and friendly, and priced well under $300K.
