Designing a Fort Worth neighborhood calls for a more classic touch, says Beth Shaddock, Shaddock Homes co-owner and VP. (Shaddock Homes)

Wouldn’t it be cool to live in a community with access to natural waterfalls?

In the small city of Westworth Village, Plano-based homebuilder Shaddock Homes announced that it is building homes in the Westworth Falls development not far from Airfield Falls.

Airfield Falls also is home to Hidden Waterfalls, just west of the West Fork Trinity River and one of the few natural waterfalls in Dallas-Fort Worth. We explored the waterfalls in 2018 and came away impressed.

Hidden Waterfalls is one of the few natural waterfalls in Dallas-Fort Worth (Shaddock Homes).

Westworth Village is an incorporated city that occupies two square miles within Fort Worth with a population of 3,100 residents, according to the city’s website. The city is five miles west of downtown Fort Worth, close to Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth and near the banks of the Trinity. South of Westworth Village is the Ridgmar area, which is prime territory as Fort Worth development moves west from the western end of Camp Bowie and Alta Mere Drive.

Westworth Falls is Shaddock Homes’ second move into Fort Worth. Tavolo Park in southwest Fort Worth near Benbrook Lake was the first. Westworth Falls, a 28-acre gated community, is located close to Airfield Falls Trailhead and Conservation Park.

The city operates Hawks Creek Golf Club, an 18-hole golf course and practice facility. But other amenities unique to Fort Worth — the Stockyards, Trinity Trails, Fort Worth Zoo, Botanical Gardens, quick access to freeways — are nearby.

Homes in the 2,550- to 3,600-square foot range will be available soon starting at $585,000.

Westworth Falls is Shaddock Homes’ second development in Fort Worth (Shaddock Homes).

Peter Shaddock Jr., Shaddock Homes co-owner and vice president, said his competitors have a standard building style and can look similar.

“We are not a 4-star hotel where everyone treats you the same,” he said. “We’re a 5-star hotel where we treat everyone uniquely.”

Shaddock Homes has focused most of its constructions north of Dallas, particularly in Frisco and Plano. Designing a Fort Worth neighborhood calls for a more classic touch, said Beth Shaddock, also a co-owner and VP.

“There’s been a big modern farmhouse (approach), a lot cleaner, take on things that started in Dallas like eight years ago, but Fort Worth is a lot more traditional and classic,” she said.

Correction: A previous version of this article incorrectly stated that Shaddock Homes developed Westworth Falls. It is building homes in the neighborhood.
