Just when we thought we were seeing the light at the end of the pandemic tunnel, Mother’s Day dealt us yet another blow: A flower shortage. You heard it right. The ripple effects of COVID— recently coupled with national strikes in Colombia, poor growing conditions, and trucker shortages in the U.S. — have resulted in delayed and canceled shipments of cut flowers from South America, Holland, Ireland, and Israel, CBS News reported.
The good news, beautiful buds aren’t limited to the fresh blooming kind. In celebration of mothers everywhere, we’ve rounded up an array of floral-inspired finds to enjoy now and long after the holiday.
Fabulous Faux

For starters, forget what you’re thinking: Artificial flowers can be incredibly realistic. Terrain features some of the best—and most believable.
Architectural Digest offers these tips: Always opt for individual stems. Arrange them in water like you would real flowers. Trim them to different heights, then bend them to look a little less stiff. You can also add a touch of real greenery or dribble a bit of water on the petals.
