Barbara Arredondo says that it’s hard to put into words why she came to Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty in September.  Despite being in a good situation, she said making the change was something she felt in her bones. She’d always wanted to be with Briggs at some point, was impressed by the firm’s marketing and the way they work with their agents.

“I just felt like it was the right move,” she says. “They (Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Real Estate) just pour a lot into their agents.

Arredondo’s path into real estate actually began overseas. When she was 23 years old, she was living in London for a spell and searching for ways to earn more money.  She started looking in a local classifieds paper called The Loop, similar to our Green Pages.  Many people were placing ads looking for roommates. Arredondo did that math and realized that she could rent a five-bedroom flat, rent out four bedrooms and keep one for herself to live rent-free.

“That just kind of started the spark,” she said. “I liked it and I could do it.”

While working in the telecommunications industry, she got her real estate license in 2006 and began her real estate career five years later. It 2015, she transitioned out of her job in Program/Project management at Sprint to fully focus on her real estate career. She has been flourishing ever since

Last year she started the Barbara Arredondo Real Estate Group.

Her team now includes Elissa Genova, Sandra Najera, and Wendy Escutia. They each have their own business and clients but also team up for certain projects. The group was founded at the beginning of 2020 with COVID just around the corner. They managed to do well even during those tough times and have grown even stronger since.

“It’s really nice for us to be a team because it can be really hard to get that kind of support when you need it,” she says.

Arredondo’s business now spans the Dallas- Fort Worth area.  In addition to her presence in Dallas, she also has many clients in east side cities like Rowlett and Rockwell as well as those looking to trek out to the northern suburbs.

For Arredondo, one of the things she enjoys most is getting to see the impact of her work. In the tech world, the value of her work was often hard to quantify and there was typically no immediate reaction to it.  In real estate, she gets to see the happiness and satisfaction of a family that finds the perfect home.

“You are really impacting people’s lives and I really enjoy helping people find their home,” she says.
