My family has always enjoyed Halloween. When my daughter was really young she insisted on dressing up as a different animal associated with Halloween. The vampire bat costume was easy to make but I still find feathers from when we made her owl costume. It was great but oy vey, all the feathers.
It was always about the costumes more than the candy in our house.
It comes as no surprise that one of the television shows our daughter got us hooked on is What We Do in the Shadows. The series is based on the movie of the same title. The franchise is a mockumentary based on the lives of four old-world vampires. My favorite character is Lazlo Cravensworth. He was an English nobleman and a former porn star. Yeah, you read that right. Lazlo is the pimp of the vampire world and just thinking about him gets tears in my eyes because he is that funny.
I digress.
Now unlike some other vampires, Lazlo does not dwell at the cemetery or some mausoleum. He and his roommates share a house in Staten Island, which explains a lot about Staten Island. If they were ever to move out west, however, I have found the place for Lazlo and his roomies.
It is easy to assume that your first impression of this house located at 2263 East Appleby Road, Gilbert, Arizona, would be that it is a little too suburban for a dazzling urbanite like Lazlo. The house has five bedrooms, four bathrooms and almost 4,400 square feet. The owner is asking $975,000. Lazlo will love, love, love this house.

To be honest, when I first saw this I was at a loss for words, and again, for the sake of honesty, I still am, which is a bad thing since I am a writer. Let us take a gander at the formal living area.
Now what is amazing, is that the owner, who is selling this masterpiece himself, is sweetening the pot by making the “furnishings available to go with the house should the new buyer be interested.”
Now that we have Lazlo’s approval let us saunter over to the kitchen. Brace!
I know what you are thinking, “Mimi, vampires do not eat food so why would they have a kitchen?” Why would they indeed? You are very smart. What the former porn star turned vampire Lazlo would really be interested in would be the bedroom.
I promise, you will not be disappointed.
I have nothing. The pictures say it all. But I am slightly curious as to the purpose of the chair in the corner.

I love Halloween and this house is just perfection in every way.
I have no doubt that Lazlo and his roommates may be the few who could just move right in, not make any changes and enjoy this house from day one.
