As you enter the gorgeous grounds of this estate you’ll think you’ve stumbled into Las Alamandas –the resort on Mexico’s Pacific coast that is so private it’s the favorite haunt of the uber rich and famous. This haven of a hacienda is picture perfect in every way and although you don’t have to be famous, you’d better have a healthy bank account for this one. With a list price of $11,595,000 it’s not for the faint of financial heart but it is most definitely for the very discerning and privacy driven buyer. If you want the look and feel of a boutique luxury hideaway hotel, 4842 Brookview Drive is a secluded paradise, replete with lush gardens, breezy terraces, and best of all, its minutes from downtown.

Built in 2013, this idyllic sanctuary is in the heart of Sunnybrook Estates in Preston Hollow. We love this neighborhood. It scores on every front, beauty, privacy, and location, location, location.

The inspired blend of materials creates a seamless flow between the indoor and outdoor areas of the home, and that’s what really embeds the resort-style feel. The use of rugged stone walls in the main living room and weathered beamed ceilings creates just the right air of relaxation. A huge picture window set into the main focal wall and overlooking nothing but green gardens, is breathtaking.

There are nine, yes nine, fireplaces in and on the property. One of our favorites is in the family room. It looks like it’s been there for hundreds of years. The wide plank wood floors in alternating stains and the intuitive use of the same weathered beam material as bookcase shelving is nothing short of brilliant design.

Speaking of design, the kitchen is pure genius. The ceiling is lined with wood planking but fortunately does not mimic the floor, which would have been pedestrian. It’s so nice to see the unexpected. We love the round skylight that looks as if it’s simply dropped its cut out orb down to create the kitchen island. That orb shape is subtlety repeated throughout the house in many of the windows. This is a kitchen any chef would love with yet another stunning view.

The dining room has a continuation of the wide plank floors, another fireplace and yet more of the weathered beamed ceiling and rugged wall look incorporated into the smooth plaster walls. More informal dining can take place in the stone-floored breakfast room or on the covered patio where you see yet more of the wood and beamed ceiling look.

The master suite has an ebony marble fireplace, offset nicely by the rough beamed ceiling to create just the right blend of relaxation and refinement. There are five bedrooms and five-full-bathrooms as well as two-half-bathrooms in this 10,600 square-foot, two-story tropical sanctuary. Of course there’s an elevator, guest quarters and a gorgeous saltwater pool.

The terraces that meander around the house lend a nature preserve feeling to the estate. There are plenty of spots for solitude and quiet reflection and yet an easy flow for entertaining a sizable party. If you’re looking for the absolute best of both worlds, a private paradise that’s in close proximity to all you need from a city, but has all the attributes of being in a remote resort don’t let this one get away. Alex Kaliniak at Allie Beth Allman & Associates would be happy to show you around.
