My first house, which became my home, is on the market today. It’s a hip pocket the amazing Britt Lopez of Dallas City Center Realtors is handling for me.
I can’t go into detail about how kind Britt Lopez is – I will save that for my book – but know that she is not only a smart, clever Realtor with a sharp mind, but she is a gracious person whose true colors shine ever so brightly.

Originally built in 1938, this Hollywood Heights jewel underwent renovations from 2007 – 2012 which included all new electrical, recessed lighting, hidden speakers in every room, fabulous insulation, a 2012 roof and gutters, a 3-ton Amana furnace and air conditioner (2010), a Rinnai gas tankless water heater (2007), and a Rain Bird programmable sprinkler system (2011). This was no DIY or Home Depot reno.
It’s a 2/2 with 1,284 sq. ft. Did I mention it’s zoned for the coveted Lakewood Elementary?
There are custom blackout window treatments throughout that were hand-picked by the talented Bernadette Schaeffler of the Bernadette Schaeffler Collection.

Bernadette also consulted on the tasteful color choices throughout the home.
There are meticulously loved original wood floors throughout. The house is solid – they don’t build ’em like this anymore! Additionally, it’s a marble lover’s heaven with marble and onyx floors, onyx slab in the kitchen, marble slab countertop in the master bath on a custom mahogany vanity, and an antique French console vanity with marble slab in the second bath that is fantastic. (If it was not a fixture, it would be coming with me!)

There is simply no other 1930’s cottage with this level of detail in Dallas – from the custom crown molding and mantle to the dual fuel Viking range, Sub-Zero refrigerator, custom cabinetry with lighted display, and glazed walls, this home is truly enchanting and sits on the best (and quietest) street in Hollywood Heights. With just 16 homes on it, I can attest that it has some of the best neighbors you could ever ask for. I will miss this home, my home, so much, but a new chapter in this crazy life awaits me. It’s time for someone else to love this home as much as I have.
The home comes with a lifetime guaranty against rodent intrusions from Critter Control. It’s basically a fortress. And at $350,000, it’s sure to find a new loving owner very soon.
P.S. You will love the water pressure. I will miss that master steam shower more than words can express.
