Over 1,000 acres and 6 miles of shoreline — is this heaven? Nah, it’s Texas! (photos: Tourmax)

We have featured quite a few ranches over the years in this spot.

We have featured a few horse facilities as well. We certainly have featured properties with lake and river access. But have we ever featured a ranch with multiple houses on the property, over six miles of shoreline, multiple horse pens and barns, and plenty of amazing views?

That’s exactly what we have for Tarrant County Tuesday this week.

Welcome to The Waco Bend Ranch

House
There are plenty of highlights to feature at the Waco Bend Ranch…where to start

And it’s not modest, either, at 1,037 acres. That’s a lot of space. I tried to do some fuzzy math and figure out how long it would take the average human to walk that distance, but my brain started to smoke and tremble. Needless to say, 1,037 acres is a pretty nice piece of property.

This iconic ranch is at the Waco Bend of the Brazos River, the last bend before its confluence with Rock Creek at the north end of Possum Kingdom Lake. This property is the current headquarters of the cutting horse breeding operation of the same name.

Taking Care of Horses

The facilities for the horse operation are second to none. The foreman’s home is a beautiful three-bedroom home near the main barn with wrap-around porches to take in the land and sunsets after a hard day’s work. The main barn has 38 stalls along with a vet room, feed rooms, tack room, and wash stall as well as a single-bedroom apartment under roof.

House
Now that’s a house for a foreman! Can I volunteer?

The adjacent covered arena measures 160 feet by 80 feet with a round pen and hot walker. Plenty of turnouts and loafing sheds are found throughout the ranch along with smaller barns and pens.

House
The 100- by 70-foot garage can easily accommodate big trucks and trailers or it could be your private pickleball court.

Of course, there is a jumbo garage that can fit all the trucks and trailers and things that you’d typically see on any episode of Yellowstone. I can’t confirm, but unlike the TV show, I doubt there’s a cliff where bodies are dumped frequently.

What to do on The Waco Bend Ranch

Okay, once the horses are fed and bathed and trotted or roped or whatever, and there’s still daylight (we’re assuming pre-Daylight Saving Time) what else is there to do?

I’m glad you asked.

House
By the way, there’s an amazing owner’s lodge on the property, too.

Because the horse operation is so appropriately situated, the majority of the ranch (nearly 900 acres) is undisturbed land. Of course, there are miles and miles of scenic trails to be explored on foot or ATV. If hunting wild game is your thing, there is an abundance of wildlife and game animals. Those nasty wild boars have been kept at bay, while there has practically been no hunting pressure on the Whitetail Deer or Rio Grande Turkey that call the ranch home.

If you want to shoot something that doesn’t look at you with sad eyes as it gasps its last breath, just one-quarter of a mile from the owner’s lodge is an 11-station cliffside sporting clay course to enjoy.

While not as much fun as shooting wild hogs, there is a sporting clay course on the ranch

The Owner’s Lodge

I might as well continue blowing your mind and tell you about the nearly 6,000-square-foot owner’s lodge. The authentic log cabin home (that’s the second log cabin in 2022 for Tarrant County Tuesday) has five bedrooms, five-and-one-half bathrooms, two large fireplaces, four gathering areas, and plenty of open-air porches to watch horses, cows, wildlife, sunsets, or your cares melting away minute-by-minute.

House
Think you could enjoy this view for a few minutes?

The Waco Bend Ranch is located at 842 Philips Ranch Road in Graham, Texas, and is technically in Young County. The property is listed by the perfect Yellowstone extra and production consultant, Allen Crumley of Williams Trew Land and Dwellings division. The ranch along with all wind and mineral rights are offered for $16.75 million. Giddy-up!
