The 2021 FW AIA Home Tour features a digital tour of each home presented by the home’s architect.

It’s always fun to take a peek at creative designs by architects. It’s even more fun when it’s free.

This year’s Fort Worth American Institute of Architects Home Tour is available free on the tour’s website. The 2021 event features a digital tour of each home presented by the home’s architect.

The tour features a mix of projects, including renovations, additions, and newly constructed homes from four local architecture firms.

“Since it’s the only citywide and beyond homes tour curated by architects, the tour does an excellent job of highlighting the products that homeowners desire and revealing the processes behind creating this quality level of design,” Lindsey Brigati Boren, chairperson of the Fort Worth Homes Tour, said in a news release.

Proceeds from the event support various programs offered to the public by AIA Fort Worth. The tour’s mission is to celebrate the process of design and educate the community on the benefits of working with an architect.

This year’s local architecture firms are:

  • Paul Dennhey, AIA of Dennhey Architects: A 370-square-foot addition and renovation to a 1,100-square-foot Ryan Place cottage features a backstory about aging in place. Originally a guest cottage, the original footprint was expanded and renovated to incorporate all of the amenities of a one-bedroom, one-bathroom home, including a trellised front porch. The completed design features sustainable principles of cross ventilation, natural daylighting, and a natively planted garden.

  • Marta Rozanich, AIA of Konstrukcio Studio: This 3,000-square-foot-craftsman celebrates the unique feel of a 1920s craftsman home. The architect renovated selective areas, updated historical details, and added functionally to underutilized spaces. The two-phased project updated the detached guest quarters first to allow for the homeowners to live on the property during the main house renovation.

  • Jason Eggenburger, AIA, and Steven Halliday, AIA, of 97w: This 1,711-square-foot detailed construction features a split volume design nestled among mature trees. The ground floor hosts the shared living spaces while the cantilevered upper floor contains the three bedrooms.

  • Norman Ward, FAIA of Norman D. Ward Architect: Situated on a plateau overlooking Eagle Mountain Lake, the 5,000-square-foot, three-bedroom home was designed to preserve the native tree-filled site.
