Enchanting Architect-Designed Modern Spread on Encanto Drive

I can’t think of a more apposite address for the captivating, architect build than Encanto Drive. Embedded in a near full-acre lot in Westcliff West, 3701 Encanto Drive presents a discreet modern face to the street. Built in the year 2000 by the firm Shwarz-Hanson, the apparently modern composition employs a pared-down classical vocabulary. Two near symmetrical wings flank a receding central block with a-barrel vaulted colonnade thrusting forward to welcome the visitor.

The barrel vault continues inside and forms a central axis running clear through the residence to the back. The mostly white palette is enlivened with ‘pops’ (see painting below) of bold color as in the variegated gold and red glass tile revetting the chimney piece for the gas fireplace in the living room.

The plan of the three-bedroom, three-and-one-half-bath house is mostly open and sprawls over 5,000 square feet. Construction is of the highest quality. Large windows, which capture the bluff views, are hurricane standard, and fixtures and fittings are top of the line. Many rooms are finished in Venetian plaster.

The dining room glows in warm gold. Yes, that’s a Chihuly chandelier, which, unfortunately, is on the exclusion list. I’m generally not a fan of tray ceilings, but here they look intentional and purposeful.

The striking kitchen shines in shimmering stainless-steel appliances, counters, backsplash, and cabinets all.

The wine room, featured in Fort Worth Magazine, can handily accommodate over 200 cases of wine .

“Prospective buyers have trouble identifying the master bedroom,” observes listing agent Moses Druxman.

“All three bedrooms are of equivalent size and have an en suite bath with luxury fixtures,” he adds.

Undeniably, the most stunning prospect of the house is at back. Arched stairs symmetrically sweep from the edges of the steel columned patio to connect at a landing above the pool. This listing is replete with laid-back luxury mostly the product of deliciously pleasing proportion. One of the more unusual features of this offering is the climate controlled, four-space garage that the current owners use for art storage.

Co-listing agents Allison Hayden and Moses Druxman have priced 3701 Encanto Drive at $1.299 million.
