Stacy Brotemarkle comes by her passion for homebuilding through a deep family history. Her grandfather and father were builders, her grandmother in real estate, and her uncle an architect.

“My mom has a picture of me at two years old sitting on a stack of plywood on one of my dad’s job sites,” Brotemarkle laughs. “I was 12 when I told my family I wanted to be an interior designer and I stuck with that desire and got my BFA degree from the University of North Texas, along with a minor in engineering technology.”

As vice president and lead interior designer for Bella Custom Homes, Brotemarkle offers a winning combination of knowledge, experience, and perspective to designing, building, and serving her clients. She has worked on over 200 custom luxury homes in the North Texas market, collaborating with future homeowners from day one.

“It’s so beneficial for interior designers to be at the planning stages because we can think far down the line and ask the kind of questions that will avoid future headache — where is furniture going to go? Will the door swing into the wall? Where are those drapery panel going to stack?” she said. “The earlier in the process that you start thinking about these things, the easier the whole process is because we use a building block process and all selections are in a chronological process for our clients.”

Bella Custom Homes’ clients get the benefit of working with a licensed interior designer to assist them throughout the whole process, from designing to building their new dream home. The designer works with the clients from designing the house plans to “specing” the project.

Once construction starts, the real fun begins. The designer is at all the on-site design meetings, takes clients to the showrooms to make decorative selections, and visits the site to make sure everything gets implemented in a way that translates the clients’ vision to reality. The results speak for themselves.

Bella Custom Homes are designed and built to last for generations, using construction methods and artisan finishes that will maintain their beauty for years to come, as well as the highest quality materials from around the world. Brotemarkle works with clients to beautifully translate their wants and wishes into an aesthetic that will flow seamlessly from one space to the next and impress with its elegance and style.

“Sometimes the whole process can be a little overwhelming or daunting for clients — I am here to hold their hands and make sure that everything coordinates and creates that timeless finish that they want,” she said. “From making sure their plumbing and lighting coordinate, to selecting paint colors and tiles, I am here to guide the clients through the whole process.”

This is one reason why Bella Custom Homes gets so much business via word of mouth.

“When people come to us to build their home, they have already seen our work or been referred to us by their family or friends, so they know we will only use the finest materials available,” said founder and Certified Graduate Master Builder Tony Visconti. “Is it common for us to build homes for multiple family members — so most of our business is referrals.”

Part of the client appreciation comes from an organized, methodical method for designing the home, from flooring choices to final finish outs, said Brotemarkle, who is Certified Graduate Builder (CGB), Certified Green Professional (CGP), Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS), and an Allied member of ASID.

“Our selection schedule is beneficial for our clients – we work down the checklist in chronological order, so it’s a lot less stressful than skipping around,” she said. “Being organized and detail oriented, I love that everything is spelled out in our specifications. From the get-go our clients know exactly what is going into their home and that helps eliminate surprises during construction.”

The company builds in styles ranging from transitional to traditional, Mediterranean, French, English, and Italian. The results are gorgeous.

“Our goal is to exceed expectations, and the design process is part of that success,” said Brotemarkle.
