Stylish interiors in North Texas are no accident—we have an abundance of talented Dallas interior designers working hard to make them so. Over the past year, I’ve kept my eyes on a handful of clever interior designers, and five in particular have distinguished themselves through their gorgeous work. Keep an eye on these five in 2015!
1. KEVIN TWITTY, IBB Design Fine Furnishings
I love Kevin Twitty’s interior designs, particularly his use of color, art, and accessories. Twitty works with IBB Design Fine Furnishings, and his interiors are original and inspired. He’s got a talent for mixing traditional elements with midcentury accents, which happens to be one of the top 2015 trends I wrote about last week.
The photos below are from a client’s new Fort Worth loft. I’m particularly fond of the use of bicycle wheel spokes as wall decor in the home office. Brilliant!

2. BARBARA GILBERT, Barbara Gilbert Interiors
In 2014, Barbara Gilbert selected the finishes and furnishings for the Village Park Eco Home in Highland Village, and her work earned her first place in the 2014 ASID Legacy of Design Award for Contemporary Homes, as well as the HBA ARC Award for kitchens.
The awards were well-deserved: the house is gorgeous, from the cork wall coverings and 150-year-old wooden beams taken from old barns, to bamboo countertops and a recycled wood dining table. Her aesthetic is impeccable in this house, and in her other work.
The kitchen in the Village Park Eco Home, pictured below, has an airy and light feeling, from the white walls and cabinets to sparkling glass pendant lighting and leaf-shaped glass tile over the cooktop. And I adore those sliding doors!

Another room in the Village Eco Home, pictured below, has textured wallpaper (another trend for 2015), which is a wonderful backdrop for the artwork, which was a key element in this room to unite all of the diverse pieces.

3. DONA ROSENE, Dona Rosene Interiors
Dona Rosene’s interiors are imaginative and comfortable. She has a true talent for marrying elegance with rustic, natural elements, like in the photo below, from a client’s Bent Tree house, where a stunning iron and crystal chandelier takes front stage and adds warmth to the dining room. The gray-blue walls are soothing and painting the ceiling as well is an unexpected and beautiful touch.

Rosene also has an eye for scale, working well in residences with soaring ceilings, like the two-story entryway of a Frisco house pictured below. The rich tapestry keeps with the French style and anchors the space.

4. TRACI CONNELL, Traci Connell Interiors
Traci Connell knows texture! I’m such a fan of her bold interiors, which are creations of artistic imagination merged with realistic living.
For one client’s modern baby boy nursery, pictured below, Connell chose a contemporary white crib in front of a geometric wallpapered accent wall with white honeycomb shelves. The soft green, navy, and gray color palette makes this room feel like a stylish retreat.

In another client’s chic contemporary rustic home, pictured below, Connell gave the transitional dining room a fresh facelift with light blue patterned wallpaper and a light blue patterned rug: no need to fear mixing the two! (And blue is a color trend for 2015.)
There are so many layers of design in this room—I’m crazy for the blue glass bead chandelier and custom artwork above the buffet. The custom upholstered wing chairs at the ends of the table are an unexpected pop of color and size.

5. RHONDA VANDIVER-WHITE, RSVP Design Services
Interiors by Rhonda Vandiver-White have extraordinary attention to detail and exciting design elements in unexpected places. In the Frisco house of one client, pictured below, she transformed the formal dining room into a lush, lavish place of beauty. Blue iridescent accents, like the glass plates on the wall, a glass vase in the corner, and bowl on the table, tie beautifully with the ceiling color and corner banquette.
This is one of the design photos I keep looking at, returning again and again to marvel at its perfection.

Vandiver-White goes full-on glam in the guest bedroom pictured below, from the chandelier adorned with jewelry, amethyst, and clear stones, to rich fabric draped on the ceiling. Jewel tones are balanced by urban elements, like the heavy custom shelf with straight lines in a dark concrete gray color. Can you imagine the glory of waking up in a room like this?
