Fort-Worth

In the world of real estate, it’s not just buyers or sellers that move around. From time to time, Realtors will decide to make a change to energize their business or increase their brand.

Here at Daltxrealestate.com, we call these moves “Agent Migrations.”

Recently, two announcements have been made in Fort Worth regarding prominent Realtors making changes to their businesses. One is a real estate power couple changing brokerages and the other is two high-producing groups within the same brokerage joining forces to become a top volume team in Tarrant County.

Ida and Ted Olsen, the always-chic wife-and-husband real estate team, announced a move from Williams Trew Real Estate to Compass.

Ida first started selling homes 17 years ago with Williams Trew Real Estate. Ted, originally from the California area, joined Ida in 2012. Together they have been recognized by local and state publications and organizations for their accomplishments.

While it was a difficult decision to change brokers after so many years, Ted and Ida are excited about using the Compass network of luxury agents throughout the country to expand their brand to Ted’s home state and beyond. As a team in 2020, Ted and Ida sold over $42 million worth of real estate, and expect that number to continue to grow.

“This new partnership will allow us to further enhance the service we provide to our clients and friends,” exclaimed Ida.

Real Estate Legacies Unite

It’s not as common these days for children to follow in their parent’s footsteps when it comes to a career. That is certainly not the case with Fort Worth’s newest high-volume real estate team of Joseph Berkes and the mother-daughter duo of Kris Karr and Kendall Kostohryz.

Both Joseph and Kendall were born and raised in Fort Worth, and both have mothers who have been mainstays in the Fort Worth real estate community for decades.

Joseph first worked with Williams Trew Real Estate where his mother, Mary Anne McCarthy, was the broker of record at the inception of the company in 2000. His first duties were to help put real estate signs in the yards of new listings. Since then Joseph has become one of the most successful agents in the area. In 2020 he sold over $60 million in real estate.

Kendall joined her mother, Kris Karr, at Williams Trew in 2010. Kris has been a successful real estate agent in Fort Worth for over 20 years. The duo has used their knowledge, skill, and charm as a team for over a decade to impressive results.

Recently, Joseph, Kris, and Kendall came to the conclusion that joining forces to become one of the higher sales volume teams not only in Tarrant County but in Texas was a no-brainer.

“Our families have been friends since before Kendall and I were born,” said Berkes. “We have many friends and contacts in common and yet we’ve never really gone head-to-head in this competitive business. This merger allows us to be focused on the future as we continue to grow and have the capability to take on more projects. It’s going to be great.”
