Nolen Homes has done it again. They’ve created another beautiful, well-thought-out, instantly Instagrammable Preston Hollow traditional home.

Amy Nolen is an extraordinarily talented designer, and Clint Nolen grew up in a home building family.  In 2007 Clint followed in the footsteps of his parents Ray and Jane, who founded Nolen Homes in 1975. The couple began their successful construction, design, and remodeling business in the Dallas-Fort Worth.

“Amy brings an incredible female perspective to the building process,” Compass listing agent Julie Provenzano said. “As the mother of three small boys, she has a mom’s practical sensibility. It’s easy for a builder to follow a trend, like the cobalt blue cabinets we see now, but Amy’s always thinking about what’s timeless. You can be playful, but take chances that are easy to change.”

Amy treats every house as if it’s their forever home, even though it’s never the case.

When Amy found the lot, she knew this had to be the next project. With three boys, having a big backyard was a plus. There is almost an acre here with massive oak trees. It also allows for a substantial home.

This Preston Hollow traditional has 9,005square feet, seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms, two powder baths, a massive playroom, and a yard perfect for entertaining with a  huge covered patio and pool. But it’s those smart touches that always separate a Nolen Homes design.

“One of my favorite things in this house is the working pantry,”  Amy said. “Being a businesswoman and a mom of three boys means life can be chaotic! I need my house to feel organized, clean, and ready for a photoshoot every day. I just function better that way. The working pantry is a way to keep the organization and cleanliness I like to have. It’s one small area, basically like a mini-kitchen. It has a refrigerator, a sink, and two coffeemakers. The boys can toast their waffles, make a mess, and it’s much easier to clean up. This is the first one I’ve built, but it’s so great I’ll do it again, and I’m steering my clients in this direction.”

Another feature Amy is serious about are the laundry rooms. She’s a big believer in the double stacked washer and dryer, a second-floor laundry, and having the ability to install a stacked unit in the master closet.

She also created a floorplan that has a home office and two bedrooms on the first floor, because as any mom understands, there are times you want the smallest members of the family close to the principal suite. Once they get older, they have four bedrooms to choose from on the second floor. The kids also have their own almost 1,000-square-foot playroom, so you may never see them!

One of the unexpected highlights of the property is a garage that opens at both ends. I’ve seen these a few times and think that there is never another design that should be considered if you have space. This makes so much sense because it maximizes your outdoor space.

How many of us have thrown a kids birthday party, and an errant shower pops up pushing everyone into your nice clean, and not particularly kid-friendly living room? That won’t happen here because the garage acts as another entertaining space.

“It’s great,” Amy said. “Caterers can set up for parties. There is a sink, a refrigerator, a TV, and a ping pong table, so it’s an extension of outdoor living. No one has to be inside the house.”

“Amy has such a special talent,” Julie said. “Whether it’s her beams, moldings, lighting, or finish selections,  she always elevates a home in subtle ways. This one is an Instagram dream home come to life!”

If you’re ready to live that Instagram life,  this Nolen Homes beauty at 11555 W. Ricks Circle is live-in ready, and we think at $5.45 million, it will sell in a California minute.
