Wisconsin Farmhouse Comes With Weathered Wood And Visible Duct Work

Quick, someone flips on the Bat Signal or its equivalent because there is a farmhouse in desperate need of rescuing and only Chip and Joanna Gaines can swoop in and save the day. Or not. The farmhouse featured in this week’s column is, how shall I put it?, one of a kind. If you know anything about Wednesday WTF then you know that is not good.

We are just going to dive right in this week.

Okay, I am going to say a little something, something here. This does not look like any of the farmhouses that have recently been built in my neighborhood. This looks like a regular home with a barn door that someone put on a rail for the front door. And apparently, the barn they stole those shutters from only had five windows.

This four-bedroom, two-bath home is located at W7968 County Road P, Endeavor, Wisconsin. It is 2,400 square feet in size and sits on 10.42 acres. The owners are asking $249,900.

Just what is going on in Wisconsin? Shutters were not the only things stolen from said barn.

I think one of the walls of the barn can be found in this kitchen. It is a multi-step process to weather wood to get that look. These folks let Mother Nature do the work.

And about the ceiling, that sheet metal belongs to a storage shed. I recognize it because the hubs and I built a sheet metal shed in our backyard. Silly us, we used it for the walls.

Ah, the dining room. All I can think about as I look at the freezer chest is the show Resident Alien. The main character has a chest just like that in his basement. There is a dead body in there. That is all I have to say about that, except that it is a really funny show. Give it a shot if you are looking for something to binge. I digress.

So we are at the point where we are abandoning the farmhouse decor and just running the air conditioning through the house. I have spent more time than I care to admit looking at these photos. The silver box that comes out of the wall and runs under the television has to do with air conditioning. Someone, anyone, prove me wrong. The electrical cord running across the ceiling is just the pièce de résistance.

Finally, the bathroom.

There is nothing worse than having to step up to get to the toilet. Automatic tripping hazard every single time.

Okay, one more photo. Just one more. It will be worth it, I promise.
