Two Ways To Live It Up At The Lake, Including The Latest From Sabado Homes

I just invented a phrase – Lake it til you make it. Let’s say you have an endgame of moving to Costa Rica. (And if you’ve talked to me for more than five seconds lately, you’ll know this is mine.) While you’re prepping yourself for that coastal move, you might hit a stop-gap near another body of water, and there you have it. You lake it til you make it.

As luck would have it, Keller Williams’ Jamye Montgomery has two very viable options up for grabs — each home spectacular in their very own way.

The waterfront at 1835 Emma Dr.

The first – 1835 Emma Dr. – is a total dream house set on nearly one-half acre on Cedar Creek Lake. Montgomery pointed out that this home is set in a channel so it’s waterfront, but also protected from the occasionally crazy East Texas storm.

It’s a design and new construction build from Sabado Homes. Sabado means Saturday in Spanish and that’s very intentional by founders Matthew McCrimmon and Bryan Wetz. This side of their business was created in the spirit of easy Saturdays on the lake. Sabado Homes is known for their unique, clever designs (and A-Frames homes!) and this one is maybe extra incredible if that’s even possible.

On the exterior, deep gray-greens blend with the environment and is topped with a statement deep gray composite roof. It’s a killer modern lakehouse design.

McCrimmon said they wanted to create a design that’s obviously aesthetically pleasing but also lends itself to a high-performing short-term rental. And you know STR’ers are suckers for a sleek modern which is continued with the material selection inside. Lots of matte tile and warm woods.

Another big draw? The insane pool that’s SET IN THE DECK outback. Views of the lake WHILE YOU’RE IN WATER?!? Heck and also, yes.

Montgomery said she has a long (and I’m guessing fabulous) relationship with Sabado and they always pick her brain as to what the market really needs. Her suggestion? Dual primary suites, which this one has. It makes it easy to host and gives guests a great big place to stay.

Your other “lake it till you make it” option is located at 10124 Cherokee Lane. It’s already built and comes fully furnished with, as Montgomery puts it, furniture that fits the space perfectly.

It could be a full-time home or a weekend retreat. The place you receive your Land’s End catalogs or the Instagram backdrop to make all your friends and fans jelly. (Do people still say jelly?? Is there a tween that reads this that can set me straight? If so, comment below.)

The home itself has solar panels that are purchased, paid for, and ready to convey. Get this – it’s not unheard of for summer bills to be zero dollars. CAN YOU IMAGINE?! Remember your August bill last year? Wouldn’t zero dollars be waaay better than that?!? Like literally hundreds of times better?

This one also has a dock for a boat and personal watercraft with a party deck up top. Montgomery said the way the dock sits is unique, so getting to it is easy-breezy.

Extra perk alert – The home is completely smart-home wired so if it does become your second home, you can let a housekeeper or weekend guest in remotely. Convenient.

If you’re interested in either, give Montgomery a call. She knows the area exceptionally well and would be happy to talk you through it. Montgomery has 1835 Emma Drive listed for $765,000 and 10124 Cherokee Lane listed for $800,000.
