You’ve probably driven by this secluded gated neighborhood a thousand times and barely given it a glance, which is exactly why people live here. Turtle Creek’s Place Des Vosges is a little slice of Parisian heaven in the heart of Dallas. Our Monday Morning Millionaire is a recently completed 7,068-square-foot palatial townhouse. Number 15, 3901 Turtle Creek Boulevard is all drama, French drama, and mais oui we love drama!

Historically, the “town house” was what wealthy families called their the city homes. Their main residence was usually a huge mansion in the country: remember how Downton Abbey was the family estate. However, the Crawleys had their London bolt hole the girls escaped to on a regular basis so they could have a life away from the prying eyes of all those servants. The term has become a bit more pedestrian lately, including pretty much any multi-story urban dwelling. Fortunately, the original townhouse is still being built, and to a degree that would have the Dowager Countess’s raising an eyebrow in complete approval.

Place Des Vosge’s name is taken from the oldest planned neighborhood in Paris and the prototype of all future European residential squares. Some things have not changed since Henri IV created the original Place des Vosges in the 1600’s. People still need a city home— although in Dallas they are generally needing a break from running the family ranch instead of the country manor.

Back to the drama. Number 15 is stunning. We see a lot of gorgeous homes, every single day: this one just takes our breath away.

From the moment you open the doors it’s hard to know where to look first. The gorgeous custom wrought iron and Carrara marble staircase is spectacular.  If you’re not up to the climb, don’t worry, possibly the most beautiful elevator in town will ferry you between the five floors of the four-bedroom, five-bathroom and four-half-bathroom home.

Of course there’s also a dedicated massage room, and if you’re bounding up and down the stairs all day, you’ll appreciate it!

You can ride from the basement wine cellar to the top floor workout room in a whisk, which you’ll need because it will be hard to leave what is essentially wine world down there to do something as mundane as lift weights. Not only is there climate controlled space for a thousand bottles of vino, there’s a pool table, wet bar and you can watch more than one game at a time here—it’s the ultimate man cave.

Note that nothing has been done by half measures in this home. In fact, it appears the finish out budget had no ceiling. The townhome is palatial by any standard with gorgeous Schonbeck lighting and chandeliers, designer patterned hardwoods, artistic ceiling plasters, and Italian travertine fireplaces. Even the outlet and switch covers are custom creations by Vicenza. We are enchanted, and we know you will be too. And just wait until you see the parquet floors!
