This Preston Hollow Traditional is Business in The Front And a Party in The Back

Who doesn’t love a good mullet?

I’ve always loved the phrase, “business in the front, party in the back.” The saying, which normally describes a haircut that is close around the face but allows its locks to fall freely in the back perfectly describes this Preston Hollow traditional home.

The phrase, which was turned in the 2001 movie Joe Dirt is apt because there is plenty of gorgeous dirt here — 1.16 acres, to be specific. On that dirt, you’ll find a backyard that looks as if you’ve stepped into a nature preserve with massive trees and lush vegetation. There’s even a babbling brook running through the back of this resort-like property.

Two things are always at the top of a luxury home buyer’s list: privacy and security. This Preston Hollow traditional home has more than enough of both.

There will be no drive-by gawkers here not just because it’s at the end of a cul-de-sac but also because the owners cleverly created a subtle traditional facade when they built this custom home. Of course, they had no idea at the time that former president George W. Bush and his lovely wife, Laura, would be settling in just a hop, skip, and a jump away, with a cracker-jack secret service contingent on site. There’s no safer area in Dallas, frankly.

Owners Cyndi Austin and Rob Orsini were ahead of the curve when they designed their forever home.

The massive open-concept living room overlooking the park-like grounds was not the norm when they were building their 5,265-square-foot retreat. But Cyndi and Rob love to entertain, so great flow was essential. This house is indeed a dream home for entertaining.

In fact, Cyndi just held her annual Wine to The Rescue event benefiting animal shelters and rescue organizations.

“There were easily over 100 people at the event, and there was still plenty of room,” Coldwell Banker Realty listing agent Karen Cuskey said.

With so many people working remotely and bringing kids and grandparents back into the fold, homes today have to function on so many levels. I’m stunned at the forethought Cyndi and Rob put into their home. The pair purposely built it all on one story and made it easy to be ADA adaptable because they planned for this to be the forever home.

The layout is brilliant, with the principal suite, guest suite, and home office on one side of the home and two guest suites on the opposite side. Each of the five bedrooms has an exterior door — another unusual feature. It’s an excellent safety feature and one that allows complete autonomy for guests or a multigenerational living arrangement.

Although it’s always hard to leave your dream home, when opportunity knocks and adventure beckons, it’s hard to say no. That’s why Cyndi and Rob have put their Preston Hollow traditional on the market.

Cuskey brought in the brilliant team at George Bass Stage & Design to get this Preston Hollow traditional market-ready.

“Buyers don’t want to see a vacant house,” Cuskey said. “They want a move-in ready home. They need to have a vision, and George creates that vision. He brings a house to life and is just amazingly kind and incredibly talented.”

Cuskey has this Preston Hollow traditional home at 5642 Yolanda Circle listed for $2.999 million. With all these home offers, we expect it won’t last long, especially in a luxury market with low inventory.
