This Plano Home’s Kitchen Wins The #10YearChallenge

Now, I love a good before and after set of photos. Home renos? Yes. HGTV reveals? Sure. Glow ups? Fab. But this week’s Inwood Home of the Week, sponsored by Inwood National Bank is more like a satisfying 10-year challenge on social.

Head north on the Dallas North Tollway to northwest Plano, where you’ll find this 1997-built home tucked into the quiet subdivision of Stonehaven. It’s not a Plano “name brand” like Deerfield or Willow Bend, but that’s no matter.

The elegantly updated home has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and 2,911 square feet. Listing agent Paul Sanders of Compass RE Texas highlights the great open floor plan on the first floor and the upstairs living flex space for the perfect rec room. But it’s the kitchen that Sanders talks about with an exclamation point.

“My favorite part of the home is the kitchen,” Sanders says. “It’s ultra-current with all the right finishes for today’s design trends.”

That means quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, white painted cabinetry, tile backsplash, and an oversized eat-in island with tons of storage.

But flipping through past MLS listings of this home on Sendero Trail, I came across its old listing from 2013. My mathy “Beautiful Mind” rounded up today’s August 26, 2022 to the year 2023, and voila! What a difference 10 years makes.

For the uninitiated, social media’s #10YearChallenge asks users to post two photos of themselves — one from now and one from 10 years ago. The meme expanded to celebrities, inanimate objects, and some snarky signs of the times. But for our purposes in this article, the home’s kitchen is the most dramatic glow up in 10 years. Take a look:

Shown another way, here’s the transition in internet meme form. (And I’m sorry.)

It’s quite the improvement, right?

Sanders says all the bathrooms have been updated as well with a modern aesthetic including quartz countertops, new cabinetry, and tile. The primary bath boasts dual vanities, a soaking tub, a standalone shower, and a huge walk-in closet. Black-rimmed mirror frames with other black and gold accents complete the look.

The home is located at Coit Road and Hedgecoxe so you’re only minutes from the Shops at Legacy and Legacy West. All the shopping and dining you could hope for. Plus you’ve got easy access to the Dallas North Tollway and Sam Rayburn Tollway. In addition, this home is only steps away from the Preston Ridge walking trail and a block away from the popular Heritage Park. Couple all this with some of the best elementary and middle schools Plano ISD has to offer.

A Plano glow up indeed.

Paul Sanders of Compass RE Texas has listed 4321 Sendero in Plano for $680,000.
