On the edge of Oak Cliff there’s a little cove of homes set on rolling hills. Most are Craftsman style, a few are shotgun-style homes, and then every so often there’s a gem like this one.

This Oak Cliff home was built in 1963, so just beyond the purest category of Midcentury, but still well within the range. (By the way, Wikipedia calls 1945 to 1969 modern architecture “Midcentury Modern” and if you can’t trust Wikipedia, who can you trust?)

Of all the features to freaking obsess about, let’s start with the roofline. The high peak creates a spectacular entry. Like the most soaring porch capped off with the perfect Midcentury door, which would be fun to paint is all I’m saying. Hats off to the owners for not painting the brick though, right? What a freaking refreshing change of pace.

Inside it’s open concept with a fireplace wall separating the entry, living room, and kitchen. Everything is at an angle and y’all, let’s dispense with the formalities, this house is so freaking cool.

The sliding glass door that is flanked by wall-to-wall windows looking out into the backyard with the Keebler Elf views. YES. And the high ceilings, exposed beams, and clean lines add to the airiness.

The lot is just an added bonus. It backs to a greenspace and since it’s carved into the hill, there’s a steep dropoff. Or there would be if there wasn’t the most killer deck out back. It’s huge, there are multiple decks, built-in benches, and space to entertain every friend you’ve ever met in the history of ever.

With a $334,900 price tag, it’s no shock at all that Expansion Realty Partners’ Cesar Hernandez set the multiple offer deadline yesterday at 7 p.m. Honestly, I’m a little shocked it lasted six days, but hey, there’s always a backup offer.

If you’d like to drive by and drool, you’re in luck because I have an address for you: 4516 Dove Creek Way. I’d ditch the shutters. Sorry. I had to say it. Aside from that, the footprint inside is original and the lines are super clean. How fun would this one be to decorate?
