A Historic Tudor Turned Up to ElevenA Grapevine Palace Set in ParadiseAn Elegant Home with Updates Throughout

Grapevine, Texas is known for its charm. As the Christmas Capital of Texas, this quaint community can inspire scenes straight from a Hallmark movie. Its Main Street Historic District is lined with all manner of museums, fun shops, and fine dining. Then, the Cotton Belt Railroad District offers bohemian charm with artisan workshops, a glass-blowing studio, and even a blacksmith and a bronze foundry. Also, with its premier Urban Wine Trail and an array of local vineyards, this city certainly lives up to its name.

For this week’s Suburb Sunday, I’m showcasing three of this market’s most dazzling dwellings for those looking to get in on the Grapevine magic.

A Historic Tudor Turned Up to Eleven

322 E. College Street

  • Six Bedrooms, Six Bathrooms
  • 6,117 square feet
  • $3.725 million

The first home I am excited to feature is a beautiful red brick Craftsman-inspired Tudor with a historic past.

“It was constructed in 1934,” said listing agent Sue Wykes of Coldwell Banker Realty. “The house was built on the original Presbyterian Church of Grapevine. Shortly after, the prominent Boone Lipscomb family acquired it and it was in their possession for over fifty years. The home was a mecca for huge celebrations and was perhaps the most prestigious address in the College Street Historic District.”

Later in the 20th century, the home changed hands again and was made into a bed and breakfast for several years, Wykes said. Then, its current owners acquired it and took it to a new level. The historic landmark plaque on the home’s front tells much of the fascinating story.

“Not only is this a historic home with old-world charm and access to the Main Street Historic District,” said Wykes. “It feels like a new build. It has been completely restored and features impeccable design touches throughout.”

The property’s listing includes the main house with a basement, a cottage, a carriage house, an oversized detached garage, and a barn, plus most of the furniture conveys with the sale.

A Grapevine Palace Set in Paradise

3529 Boxwood Drive

  • Four Bedrooms, Four Bathrooms
  • 4,180 square feet
  • $1.1 million

When searching for the perfect home, it’s not often that you encounter excellence both inside and out. However, this next home manages to feature the best of both worlds, a beautiful interior and curb appeal outside.

“I absolutely love this home,” said listing agent and seller Kim Assaad with Compass RE Texas.

Having lived on the property for 17 years, Kim has upgraded this home with impeccable style.

“I love the panda marble waterfall counters and natural stained hardwood floors, which follow you throughout this home,” said Kim. “The herringbone lay in the entry is also one of my favorite features.”

Aside from the beautiful contemporary touches inside, the home also has some incredible outdoor features.

“This home has a resort-style diving pool, backs up into a beautiful wooded area, and is just a short walk to Parr Park,” said Kim.

  • Four Bedrooms, Four Bathrooms
  • 3,438 square feet
  • $875,000

“House Hunters” called and they want their showpiece back. No seriously, the iconic HGTV show will soon feature this home, and for good reason.

“There’s so much to love about this house,” said listing agent Melissa Stehn with Offerpad Brokerage. “From the private balcony views to the updated white quartz counters, this is one beautiful listing. The owners actually renovated it with no intentions of leaving but were called out of the country for business. So, they did all the updates with love.”

The home is also in an amazing area with natural features and a secluded feel.

“The location is really part of the charm,” said Stehn. “With a three-story outdoor living space, pool, and spa, this home has the feel of an upscale getaway.”
