Serious Glam Never Goes Out Of Style In This Ridglea Hills Midcentury

Let’s start with a little backstory before we get into the freaking amazing Fort Worth midcentury in Ridglea Hills. Just on the off chance you haven’t read every article on here ever and aren’t as familiar with that part of town. I mean we can do a real deep dive and talk about how A. Clayton Luther is considered the “Father of Ridglea” and developed the area with his brother, J.T. Luther. They bought the land, raised cows, divided it into residential lots, bit by bit, sold it, moved their fences (and cows), and did it all again.

What was once cow pasture is now one of the most idyllic, picture-perfect neighborhoods around. It’s the kind of neighborhood where kids play out front, dogs are walked, neighbors are waved to, etc. There’s a small-town feel with Luther Lake at the edge of the neighborhood and midcentury homes sprinkled throughout.

This one is kind of special, too. It’s been owned by the same family for over 60 years. They’ve created a truly incredible home with a gravel driveway, split levels, and what Williams Trew’s Rozi Stone calls, “Palm Springs resort ambiance.” The awning out front is your first nod to that regal feel and the backyard pretty much clenches it.

OK, this is going to sound a little dumb because obviously, you dig out the earth to create a pool, but the way the flagstone surrounds this pool makes it feel like the pool was literally carved into the backyard. Then there’s a stepping stone water fountain that’s like what?? So pretty and natural. Real unfussy stuff. Just the overall mix of grass and stone. Sigh. Love the heck out of it.

Inside the home is sprawling and there’s been an addition to make it even more sprawling. A lot of the original countertop curves are still intact, and the primary bathroom has a real old Hollywood feel. That’s kind of it. This whole house just feels very glam. It’s understated elegance and clean lines and are you kidding me? Anyone that styles their utility room with hot pink holds a really special place in my heart.
