Shop for a cause. Save on home furnishings during Partners Card. (@scoutdesignstudio)

Need a reason to shop? How about 20 million of them? That’s how much money Partners Card, the annual fundraiser for The Family Place, has raised to help support survivors of family violence since its inception 30 years ago.

For the uninitiated, here’s how it works: For $75, shoppers can purchase a card to save 20 percent at over 700 area retailers — and at the same time, provide one night of safety for victims of abuse. Win-win.

The timing is especially opportune. The annual event, which runs from Oct. 28 to Nov. 6, comes just in time to get your home spruced up for the holidays or make a dent in your gift list.

Participants run the gamut, from apparel and electronics to health, beauty, and spa. Read on for our picks of some of the best in the home furnishings arena.
