Free, yes indeed. All you have to pay are the utilities. The owner of this home is seeking a Home Tender. What is that? It’s a person who lives in a home for free, maintains and loves it, and keeps it looking fresh and beautiful for the owner who may not be able to live in the home for several reasons while it is on the market. Few homeowners want to leave their home stark naked and empty while it sells, subject to the whim of crazy intruders or, even worse, a house squatter!
So the owners of this lovely ranch home on Northaven are seeking a couple (or individual) with lovely furnishings who might want to nest here for three to six months or until the house is sold. I know there are people like you out there because I have received hundreds of requests for situations like this. Time to step forward! We have a house!
Here’s the deal: all you have to do is be a normal person, no psychos or ax murders need apply, thank you. Someone who needs a place to park for a few months is a perfect fit. It would help if you were on the OCD side, too, wiped the counters down after you eat, vacuum the carpet in one direction, you get it. You do have to tidy up for home showings, let’s not leave our underwear on the floor, and I don’t think pets will work in this scenario. The house is your pet. Of course there is a Home Tenders agreement to sign, screening, no illegal substances, your people talk to their people, all that. But this can be done.
You know, this is a lot like how Airb&b started: two guys in San Francisco needed to pay their rent, so they decided to rent out their apartment for a weekend and voila, another Silicon Valley billionaire was born! Airb&b is huge, giving hotels a run for their money, making municipalities scratch their heads over how to collect taxes on them. Maybe we can christen this enterprise the Homet&m: tender and mender.
This one is a whopping 3869 square feet with four bedrooms and four baths. The home has been fully remodeled, has an open floor plan with clean lines, new gourmet kitchen and large entertainment areas. The master is cool: features both a sitting area and an office, and the master closet is enormous. Of course, bring only half your clothes… keep those closets looking spacious! You don’t have to fill all the rooms, of course, just the main ones. Just move in with your nice furniture (no IKEA, please) live in it and love it. You pay the utilities, owner covers the mortgage.
Oh BTW: there’s a gorgeous pool! In the back yard. This idea is the brainchild of dynamo Dave Perry-Miller agent Julie Boren, but if there are other agents out there with similar needs, you just holler. We are starting up a Homet&M connection right here.
I’m thinking: could this work for someone whose own house is on the market but just wants to GET AWAY FROM THEIR HOME? Maybe someone with too much stuff? Maybe someone who wants to TRY before they BUY? Maybe we should do this with all vacant homes on the market!
I’m not too far away from 7406 Northaven, it’s just east of Hillcrest, in JanMar: whoever moves in needs to come over for drinks — Julie says she’s buying! Like the house? It can be your’s for $
