Kelly Nolan has returned to Ebby Halliday Realtors, the place where her agent career began.

“Yeah, I’m back in the saddle,” she said.  Nolan is currently working on a marketing campaign based on a line from a Beatles song, “the long and winding road leads me back to your door.”

“It’s cool because in a way I’m starting as a new agent but I’m not suffering all of the doubts like, ‘can I do this?’”

After selling land for a few years, Nolan first joined Ebby Halliday Realtors in 1999. She thoroughly enjoyed the experience and managed to build a strong business. In 2012, she decided to take a break and cross a few items off her bucket list. She sold almost everything she had, handed her business off, and moved to Napa.

When her father was diagnosed with dementia in 2014, she moved back home to be closer to him and other family. She also started a podcast and blog that devoted extensive time to “navigating midlife with a sense of humor and a glass of wine.”

The experience was fun, but eventually she was ready to get back into the real estate game.  Last May, she became the director of Dallas City Center.  She enjoyed the new role and learned a lot about the commercial side of the business. However, her longtime friends at Ebby Halliday had other ideas.

“They kept encouraging me to come back,” she said. “I fell in love with the Ebby Little White House, and Keith (Newman) is such a wonderful manager.”

Now that she’s back, Nolan plans to spend more time focusing on Millennials, a group she believes is misunderstood.  She’s already reached out to a few Millennial groups and is in the midst of lining up some other things to work on.

“Four to five years ago, Millennials had the image of being slackers that didn’t’ want to work. I think that’s really turning around,” she said. “I think they are extremely sharp and surprisingly interested in good investments and understanding the process”
