Worth Her Weight in GoldForestcrest Estates Contemporary Shows Off Goldschmidt’s Signature Elements

I knew the moment I saw the exterior of this gorgeous Forestcrest Estates contemporary home that it was a Janet Goldschmidt project. Her sophisticated signature style is instantly recognizable, and over the past few years, she’s taken luxury to a new level in Dallas.

Worth Her Weight in Gold

I first came across Goldschmidt’s talent in 2021 when she completely transformed a ranch into a contemporary marvel at 11348 Valleydale Drive. This was just as local Realtors were telling us that existing housing inventory was not the style our East and West Coast buyers wanted.

Goldschmidt’s brave (for Dallas) style choices made everyone sit up and pay attention. She was doing things no one had ever done here before, like mirroring the exterior facade or creating separation in an open floor plan home by enclosing the kitchen area in glass.

When Goldschmidt’s son moved to Dallas several years ago, the New York-based designer came to visit, took a look around, and quickly recognized what was missing in our luxury market. Most notably the right mix of premium materials that create visual drama and a willingness to take chances.

Goldschmidt is not just a seriously experienced designer; she’s someone who challenges expectations, defies the norm, and creates a level of luxury we didn’t know we wanted until we saw it.

She ran fluted Nero Marquina marble from floor to ceiling on the staircase wall of this Forestcrest Estates contemporary. I’ve seen that on both coasts, but rarely in Dallas. It immediately sets the tone for what unfolds in this in this 6,713-square-foot, five-bedroom, seven-bathroom home.

The kitchen features Brazilian Florense cabinets, and as beautiful as they are in photos, to appreciate them fully, you have to see them in person. Namib Fantasy covers the kitchen island and is used on the backsplash.

The use of book-matched marble is one of her signature jaw-dropping elements.

“Janet buys 85 to 90 percent of her materials in New York,” Allie Beth Allman listing agent Lauren Savariego said. “It really is unbelievable the amount of choice there is in New York compared to other parts of the country. Her lighting is unreal, and she sources a lot of it from Los Angeles. There is a Gabriel Scott chandelier over the kitchen island. The study chandelier is by Sofia Refer for Nuura, and the Burst family room chandelier is by Jason Miller for Roll and Hill.”

These are the kind of fixtures you see on Million Dollar Listing and wonder where they came from. That’s really what separates Goldschmidt’s designs from the rest. They all look real estate reality show-ready.

The surprises in this Forestcrest Estate contemporary extend to the backyard, where you will do a double-take because, yes, that is marble seating around the gas firepit and pool.

This is Goldschmidt’s fourth new construction project in Dallas. She also completed 7027 Desco Drive in 2022 and 7430 Yamini Drive in May. She’s tapped into what buyers want today, and we can’t wait to see what’s next on her design horizon. Goldschmidt is indeed setting a new standard for luxury living in Dallas.

Allie Beth Allman’s agents, Lauren Savariego and Julie Haymann have this Forestcrest Estates contemporary at 4632 Nashwood Lane listed for $3.6 million.
