Happy Independence Day, daltxrealestate.com readers!
We are thrilled to live in a country where we are free to deliver the very best in real estate our region has to offer every day. To celebrate, we’ve put together a list of our favorite places to watch the best fireworks displays in town, and how we celebrate our nation’s birthday. The character of these neighborhoods shines through with their patriotic displays each July Fourth, and our writers tell us which ones they have a unique fondness for in their own words.
Enjoy!
Kaboom Town, Addison

Leah Shafer: Kaboom Town in Addison, because I have fond memories of driving there from work at Prestonwood Mall as a teenager. Super crowded, but great fireworks and lots of food nearby.
Valerie Jarvie: Addison Kaboom Town the evening of July 3rd, is a great way to kick off the holiday. It gets everyone in the spirit to decorate bikes and join the next morning neighborhood parade. Tonight we grill at home and take blankets and a boom box loaded with American tunes up to the lawn of a local church where we can see the show put on by a nearby country club. (Weather willing, tonight!)
Garland’s Star Spangled Spectacular at Firewheel

Fair Park Fourth

Bethany Erickson: One year we got a hotel room downtown and watched the Fair Park fireworks in the air conditioning. With booze. That was probably my dead-level favorite. You just have to make sure you ask for a room with a view of Fair Park.
Dallas Country Club July 4th Fireworks Display
Candy Evans: The fireworks display at the Dallas Country Club is not only dazzling, it brings back fond memories of many wonderful July 4th holidays. When our children were young, my husband’s brother lived in Dallas — in Northwood Hills — and they would all come over for swimming and BBQ. Sometimes the kids would start an impromptu softball game in our huge backyard on Park Lane. Once everyone was fed and dry, we’d load the kids into the cars (my Volvo station wagon) with blankets and water and head to a street in Highland Park where they could sit on the roof of the car and watch the fireworks, oohing and ahhing over each successive display.
And they are also a gift from one neighborhood to anyone, really, who can see them. We lived in Preston Hollow, but Highland Park was happy to let us park there and enjoy.
