We love it when Realtors are down-to-earth and fun to chat with. There’s no pretense, and they are just happy to meet you! That’s Medley Buttermore, for you. An SMU grad who became an agent to make ends meet after college, Buttermore has become an important part of Virginia Cook Realtors’ Melnick Team.

Besides having an awesome name, Buttermore is known for looking out for her clients, just like Jeff Lindigrin does at Great Western Home Loans. Jeff takes great care as a lender, as he should. Of course, every sale should have a lender that works just as hard to get a great deal as their Realtor. What has your lender done for you lately? Find out what you’re missing by contacting Jeff Lindigrin with Great Western Home Loans today.

Now, read on to find out more about Medley Buttermore!

daltxrealestate.com: We just LOVE your name! So fantastic! Where are you from?

Medley Buttermore: Harlan, Kentucky. It’s a tiny coal mining town and will always be home for me. Go Cats!

CD: So, how did you get into real estate?

MB: I graduated from SMU in 2009 and the job market was great. Just kidding! As a recent grad with little job experience it was pretty tough. I wanted to be productive with my time while job hunting, so I got my license and the rest is history!

CD: Tell us: In what ways are you re-focusing, revamping, or otherwise up-ending your marketing strategy to prepare for leaner months? After all, winter is coming!

MB: I’m on the Melnick Team and the 4th quarter for us tends to be the busiest. Real estate never sleeps. Am I right?

CD: Where is home for you in Dallas?

MB: As close as I could get to a Whole Foods! Lemmon Ave. and the Tollway area.

CD: And you drive a … let me guess, Range Rover?

MB: I’m a little more of an off-road type..I drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Did I just ruin the SMU stereotype? (Editor: We don’t mind!)

CD: What’s your favorite ‘hood in Dallas and why?

MB: Lakewood. There’s something about the feeling of home and community in that area. The young couples just starting families and of course Lakewood Elementary!

CD: What was your best/highest sale?

MB: Armstrong Avenue. Enough said.

CD: Likewise, what was your most challenging or memorable transaction?

MB: My most memorable would have to be helping my friends who are first-time home buyers. It’s an incredible experience to see them start that chapter of their lives.

CD: Tell us: What was the most interesting thing to happen to you while working with a client?

MB: Many interesting things have happened with my clients. I have had them hit on me, make me cry, walk in on forgetful sellers for showings. Those clients truly end up being the most appreciative in the end, like we have been through more than just business together.

CD: How quickly have you ever turned a house?

MB: 48 hours.

CD: How much did you sell last year?

MB: Our team sold more than 70 homes.

CD: What words of wisdom do you often share with clients?

MB: I try to prepare my clients for how emotional the process can be, but that it is worth it in the end. Also, things work out how they are meant to be. I’ve had clients be devastated about losing a home due to multiple offers but then we end up finding something that fits their needs even better!

CD: If you ever change careers for an encore you’ll…

MB: Become a sport’s agent. The movie Jerry Maguire really struck a chord with me back in ’96.

CD: Do you have a second home? If so, where?

MB: My family has a condo in Playa Del Carmen. Viva Mexico!
