Glamorous Townhome in Cascada Offers Chic Entertaining

You’ll want for nothing in this perfectly situated, three-story townhome inside the gated and secure Uptown development of Cascada.

When Phillip Murrell told me he had a new listing, of course I was intrigued. This go-getting Dave Perry-Miller agent has been representing some amazing properties lately, so I had to know what was going to be hitting MLS soon. Murrell offered me a chance to tour his latest, but only proffered a single photo of the property — the foyer.

And let me say that a single photo of the gorgeous entryway was all it took to get me on my way to 3338 Blackburn Ave., our High Caliber Home of the Week presented by Lisa Peters of Caliber Home Loans. If you love luxurious urban living in one of the best locations in all of Dallas, then you, like me, will probably be hooked on this home from the very start.

The foyer of 3338 Blackburn Ave. offers a dramatic geometric floor fashioned of Bardiglio marble.

Right from the front door of this this three-bedroom, three-and-one-half-bath home, you get a taste of the eye-popping finishes that marry sleek and chic design with brilliant, thoughtful amenities. And can you blame me for falling hard over this three-story townhome right from the foyer? The three-dimensional, rhombus-patterned floor fashioned of Bardiglio marble sets the tone for the rest of this 3,696-square foot urban escape.

On the first floor, you can’t help but feast your eyes on the moody and dramatic den, ensconced in glossy spruce paint with French doors that lead to the courtyard space, complete with low-maintenance turf. Across the hall, a full bath with even more delicious marble and high-end fixtures awaits guests who are lucky enough to enjoy a night (or two!) in the nearby guest bedroom, complete with gorgeous cerulean carpet.

Though there is an elevator that can take you to any floor in this tasteful townhome, you’ll be hard pressed to turn down the stairs, which are fitted with a delightfully warm and stylish custom brass stair rail, and illuminated with some of the coolest wall sconces I’ve ever seen. It’s just the right amount of glamour.

Upstairs, the luxe decor continues with even more beautiful lighting from Urban Electric Co., grasscloth and pewter leaf wallpaper from Phillip Jeffries, and gorgeous hardwood floors. Prepare to entertain, as the second floor features a spacious living room complete with stone fireplace, perfectly tailored draperies custom made by Holland and Cherry, and a lovely balcony outside twin French doors.

The open floor plan allows guests to easily migrate from the glamorous dining room, which features a one-of-a-kind, floor-to-ceiling mirror wall with the most eye-catching antique finish. Just beyond is a bright and easy-to-love breakfast area, outside which stands another balcony just through another set of French doors.

The gourmet kitchen offers a warm, artful place for the home chef. Dornbracht faucets, honed marble countertops, and bookmatched marble backsplash add just the right amount of luxury without seeming to try too hard. The true foodie will delight in the SubZero refrigerator, six-burner gas range, and Dacor ovens. An Asko dishwasher ensures that you’ll never dread the post-culinary clean-up.

Just off of the hallway is the powder bath, which is no slouch in the drama department. The unforgettably fabulous brass mirror hangs artfully above the vampy marble vanity top, providing the perfect complement to the captivating onyx wallpaper.

The two suites are located on the third floor. The nursery — a more modest but accessible bedroom — is completely charming with birch-bark wallpaper. It’s connected to a full bath, which then gives way to a large walk-in closet — perfect for storing toys and out-of-season clothing.

Down the hall is the master suite, which is the perfect combination of seductive and serene. Here, the use of almost graphite paint, combined with custom blackout draperies that ensure you’ll never wake earlier than necessary, make the oversized master bedroom feel far more intimate. The en-suite master bath offers an opportunity to personalize the home to your liking, with stone floors and trim and a large walk-in closet.

And though you want for nothing inside, you’ll find yourself surrounded by culture and amenities. The Kalita Humphreys Theater is just down the street, as is Turtle Creek. Fitness fanatics will feel their pulse quicken at the thought of being so close to the Katy Trail, and if you consider your kitchen a glorified repository for takeout, you won’t hurt for haute cuisine with some of the best dining options in Dallas on your doorstep.

Murrell has listed 3338 Blackburn Avenue for $1.59 million.
