Find Good Homes, Great Schools in Arlington’s Harris Crossing Community

In far South Arlington, just above the borthern border of Mansfield sits the community of Harris Crossing, a neighborhood that has been described as “diverse, welcoming, family-friendly, safe, and well-maintained.” What more can you ask for?

The community was established in the mid-oughts and resident Jennifer Garcia has been part of that tapestry for the last decade. She said she decided to move to the neighborhood because of what she felt the area could become.

“I’ve lived at Harris Crossing for about 10 years now,” Garcia said. “We initially moved to this area because it had a lot of potential for growth as well as excellent schools. It has since proven us right. Our neighborhood is located in south Arlington, less than a mile away from Mansfield and Grand Prairie areas, and we love it.”

Harris Crossing’s prime location makes it easy to navigate the DFW Metroplex without having to venture too far in almost any direction.

Virtually equidistant from Dallas and Fort Worth, the median home price in the community is just over $470,000 and the neighborhood boasts a population of roughly 3,300 residents.

There is no shortage of things to do in Harris Crossing, as well, and Garcia said that one of the things she enjoys the most about her neighborhood is the options when it comes to recreation and dining.

“We are near several parks including Joe Pool Lake and Elmer W. Oliver Nature Park, which has beautiful, shaded trails,” Garcia said. “You can check out Main Street in Mansfield for special events, such as the yearly Pickle Parade, or you can eat out at numerous restaurants in the area.”

Harris Crossing is served by the Mansfield Independent School district, and Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is less than five miles down the road.

Sprouts, Krogers, Wal-Mart, and Aldi are all less than two miles away, and lots of shopping venues and restaurants are within a short drive from the community.

Harris Crossing offers excellent entertainment opportunities for kids as well as adults and is relatively safe compared to the DFW Metroplex as a whole.

Located just to the west of Hwy 360, the neighborhood is within a 20-minute drive of DFW Airport.

Garcia said there is something for everyone in Harris Crossing and added that for any prospective home buyer interested in making the community their home, they will not be disappointed.

“It’s a melting pot of different backgrounds and cultures,” Garcia said. “It’s a safe place to live and learn, with lots of places to shop. My favorites are Home Goods, Market Street, and Sprouts. And there are lots of places to eat, such as Pho Palace, Luna Grill, Main St. Tacos, and ShareTea. I also appreciate the close proximity to both 287 and 360. There has been a lot of construction of new home and apartments in the past few years, but it is worth it.”
