In what has become an annual tradition, the Ebby Halliday Companies and the Ebby Halliday Foundation once again teamed up to make a difference during the holidays with some generous giving – $45,250 to be exact.

For the third straight year, any Ebby Halliday Companies’ Sales Associate or employee who contributed to the North Texas Food Bank before December 16, 2022, saw their contribution tripled. As part of its Matching Gift Program, the Ebby Halliday Foundation committed to donating an additional $2 for every $1 donated.

“This year we were blessed by great participation, including a $10,000 contribution from the Charles Evans Hughes Fund in New York,” said Realtor Mary Poss and Executive Director of the Ebby Halliday Foundation. “The Ebby Halliday Foundation is a testament to Ebby Halliday Acers and the example she set. Her legacy continues year after year and we are beyond grateful for the generosity of our agents, employees, and even many of our clients.”

The holiday fundraiser through the Ebby Halliday Foundation will provide access to 135,300 nutritious meals, and thanks to two matching sponsors, Sammons Enterprises and the Beaumont Foundation of America, the donations provide more than 270,000 nutritious meals overall.

“Unfortunately, despite the great prosperity of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, one out of every six people face food insecurity,” said Poss. “It’s our hope that these donations go a long way toward helping many in our North Texas community have a much happier, healthier, and brighter holiday season.”

Considered one of Texas’ most successful businesswomen, Ebby Halliday Acers left a mark not only as a pioneer in the residential real estate industry, but as a philanthropist who believed in giving back to the communities her namesake company served.

This commitment to, in her words, “do something for someone every day,” is still very much a part of the fabric of the Ebby Halliday Foundation and the Ebby Halliday Companies, a Berkshire Hathaway Affiliate which also includes Prosperity Home Mortgage, Texas Premier Title, HSTX Title, and Home Team Insurance.
