Ebby Halliday Up-And-Comer Courtney Molina Says Treating Clients Like Family is a Must

Courtney-Molina

I first met Courtney Molina at a fundraiser and remarked at how much energy she had. Seriously, Courtney is one of those people who really listens to you, focuses on what you’re saying, and makes sure you know you’re heard. It’s like talking to a sister or a best friend. But not only does she listen to her clients, she makes sure they are treated in the best way possible, walking them through every step of one of the biggest financial transactions of their lives like she would with her own family. It’s no wonder that, after her first year with Ebby Halliday Realtors Lakewood office, she’s growing her referrals like gangbusters.

Her approach to business is not at all unlike how Jeff Lindigrin of Great Western Home Loans works. Lindigrin is also active in the community, taking time to listen to clients and referral partners, focusing on what they have to say, and making sure they know they are heard. What has your lender done for you lately? Find out what you’re missing by contacting Jeff Lindigrin with Great Western Home Loans today.

daltxrealestate.com: Where are you from?

Courtney Molina: I am originally from Phoenix, Ariz., and most of my family still lives there. Although I often try to convince them to move to Dallas.

CD: So, how did you get into real estate?

CM: Real estate is something that I’ve been interested in for several years. I started with Wells Fargo Bank in 2008 working directly with loans. However, it wasn’t until after my husband and I purchased our first home in 2010 that I decided I would pursue it as a career.

We initially had trouble finding a good real estate agent. I think we met with three or four before we were happy. We wanted someone who had the know-how and a desire to understand our needs as a family (not just as a customer or client). I saw an opportunity. I decided then and there that I would get licensed and provide the experience that we so desperately wanted when we were looking for our home. It has been very rewarding!

CD: Tell us: What are some unique challenges that Realtors face in this super hot market where everyone wants to buy a house now?

CM: Inventory! In Dallas, there are far more buyers than there are available houses right now. It doesn’t mean they won’t find one, but it certainly takes more effort (and patience) to find the right one.

CD: Where is home for you in Dallas?

CM: We currently live in East Dallas, and are in the process of moving! We are closing on a house in Lake Highlands as we speak.

CD: And you drive a … let me guess, Range Rover?

CM: Not quite! As much as I drive for work, having a fuel efficient vehicle is a must. Right now, I am driving a very efficient Scion xB. However, I plan on a hybrid for the next car. As a Realtor, my car is basically an extension of my office, so I have to find that balance between comfortable and functional.

CD: What’s your favorite ‘hood in Dallas and why?

CM: I love East Dallas! Really anything near White Rock Lake, the Arboretum, or the Katy Trail. The green space combined with a really unique variety of homes, restaurants, and activities makes it hard to beat!

CD: What was your best/highest sale?

CM: I worked with a lovely couple expecting their first baby just this year. We found a beautiful home in a historic district that suited them perfectly. They were understandably a bit nervous starting the home search pregnant, but they were able to have fun with it! From what I’ve been told, the baby is doing well in her new room.

CD: Likewise, what was your most challenging or memorable transaction?

CM: The most challenging would have to be a property that had been vacant for almost two years and had three home owners living in different states. Coordinating between all of them while getting it ready to list was challenging to say the least!

I’ve gone through the headache of selling a home out-of-state personally, so I understand how important it is to have a solid local agent to get everything done. Good communication is a must! So it took a bit more effort than an “average” sale, but at the end of the day, they were thankful to have someone who had been in their shoes.

CD: Tell us: What was the most interesting thing to happen to you while working with a client?

CM: I had a client find out she was pregnant the day we closed! Needless to say, it was a very exciting day for them!

CD: How quickly have you ever turned a house?

CM: My very first listing had an executed contract in four days and closed very quickly.

CD: What words of wisdom do you often share with clients?

CM: Always make an informed decision, and when buying, be sure to make a list of priorities, must-haves, and wishes.

CD: If you ever change careers for an encore you’ll …

CM: Take up real estate investing.

CD: Do you have a second home? If so, where?

CM: I do not currently, but hope to sometime in the future. Somewhere near a beach!
