The secret sauce: New Leaf’s design expertise. Done well, a pool can be a major design amenity.Count on Pools by Design to go beyond the standard sources.“Pools by Design has a home with New Leaf, but we want to design and work anyone who wants a special pool.”

Leave it to New Leaf Custom Home founders Scott and Melissa Powell to take the concept of full service and elevate it to a whole new level. Their latest venture, Pools by Design, takes a design-centric approach to outdoor living, creating swoon-worthy spaces as fashionable as they are functional.

“Seventy-five percent of our clients install a pool when they build a home,” said Rylan Clark, director of business development. “Adding a pool company was a natural extension. We’re truly a one-stop shop.”

Pools by Design offers more than convenience. Customers save time, money, and stress.

“We’re big on processes, big on details. What people can’t see is that we’ve got over 75 years of construction experience in our back office,” said Clark.

The secret sauce: New Leaf’s design expertise. Done well, a pool can be a major design amenity.

Consistency is key. “Everything should flow and work together,” said Clark. “The whole idea is to make it look congruent; to feel like the pool wasn’t an afterthought.”

This is where the company’s in-house design team steps in. “Once you cover the nuts and bolts, you’re ready for the pretty stuff.

“We ask, ‘What do you want your pool to look like?’ Maybe a homeowner has inspiration photos, or they’ve seen something online. Our team is forward-thinking in design and function, and we push ourselves creatively to find new and exciting techniques to express uniqueness for our clients and their homes,” he added.

Pool and landscape designers collaborate with the company’s in-house architects and interior designers. The end goal? To find uncommon materials and install them in a way that will bring exciting new style trends to the Dallas market.

Count on Pools by Design to go beyond the standard sources.

Take tile, for example. “Our clients don’t just choose from the same 150 tile packs,” said Clark. “We let them touch and feel different tiles. Plus, we’ll mix and match a lot of cool materials — marble, glass, porcelain, natural stone.” Even grout color comes into play.

Seating, stairs, decks, and lighting add both style and functionality. Other exceptional extras like built-in bars, spas, fountains, waterfalls, and grottos create a resort-like effect.

Services don’t stop there — think patio, pool bath, outdoor kitchen, entertaining space, lounge area, and landscape design. “We’re a pool company that was born from a home builder,” said Clark.

“Pools by Design has a home with New Leaf, but we want to design and work anyone who wants a special pool.”

Which includes other builders. “Our deep-rooted history with building homes first – and all that comes with that intricate relationship – allows us to work in a way that most other pool companies can’t.”

Ready to dive in? Act now, according to Clark. “Sign the contract by March 1 and we can have you enjoying your new pool by Memorial Day.”

Pools by Design is located at 9840 North Central Expressway in The Hill Shopping Center. For more information or to schedule a consultation, visit poolsxdesign.com or call 214-414-9878.
