Open house: Sunday, Jan. 24, 1-3 p.m.

An address on Swiss Avenue has a certain cachet in Dallas, particularly if that address is located in the Swiss Avenue Historic District. The 1940 traditional at 5728 Swiss Ave. has a stately air, set back from the street with lots of green grass, mature trees, and landscaping. This two-story property is located near La Vista Drive and Abrams Road, with three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a powder room, and 2,914 square feet, along with 650 additional square feet in the back above the two-car garage.

The interior is graceful and comfortable, with two living areas and an updated, high-end kitchen with light-colored granite countertops and white cabinets, a large island with tons of storage, and Wolf and Sub-Zero stainless steel appliances, including a gas stove, commercial-sized refrigerator, two dishwashers, and a wine refrigerator. This home was listed Jan. 4 by Anne Lasko with Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s for $917,500.

The condo at 4414 Buena Vista St. Apt 11 is completely renovated to be a fresh, appealing space with 1,167 square feet. It’s located in the Knox-Henderson area, in the Parkwood Condominiums, built in 1973. This condo is a 2-2 with two stories, and lots of standout design features. The kitchen, in particular, is awesome, with a sleek look: you’ll find white cabinets, light-colored granite countertops, a modern glass backsplash, funky light pendants, and stainless steel appliances, including a wine refrigerator. The kitchen opens to spacious living area, and there are patios outside the front and back doors. Both bathrooms are sleek, and the entire community has been updated for a modern look.

Monthly HOA fees are $236 and this condo was listed Jan. 8 by Jarred Barnes with Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate for $335,000.

For families wanting to stay in Dallas but have Highland Park ISD schools, the Caruth Hills traditional cottage at 7439 Colgate Ave. is a find. This 3-2 has 1,664 square feet, built in 1952, with two living areas, a dining room, and detached two-car garage. The hardwoods in the living areas and bedrooms are refinished, and the kitchen is renovated with Carrera Marble countertops, a subway tile backsplash, porcelain tile flooring, a new sink and faucet, plus a new stainless steel dishwasher.  It was listed Jan. 8 by Paige and Curt Elliott with Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate for $899,000.

Open house: Sunday, Jan. 24, 1-3 p.m.

We love a good Tudor home, and the one at 5927 Vanderbilt Ave. in East Dallas’ Geneva Heights has a lot of the features that make them so charming: beautiful roofline, charming curb appeal, vaulted ceilings, arched doorways, stained glass features, lots of windows, and a welcoming feel. This home is a 3-2 with 1,750 square feet, built in 1934.

There are hardwoods throughout, and an updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances, including a gas range, tons of cabinets, and a built-in buffet with beautiful stained glass. The master is updated with a walk-in closet and ensuite bath. It was listed Jan. 18 by George Haynes with Ebby Halliday for $515,000.

Open house: Sunday, Jan. 24, 1-3 p.m.

The funky, spacious traditional at 9801 Winding Ridge Dr. is in located in Lake Highlands, near Audelia and Church roads. Built in 1982, this home has 3,553 square feet, four bedrooms, four full bathrooms, and a powder room, with two stories, sitting on almost half an acre. The downstairs master has access to a covered patio, with a professionally landscaped and fenced yard. The interior has lots of space, and some areas feel dated, like the kitchen, but it has excellent bones, like three gas fireplaces, oak hardwood floors, and built-ins. It was listed Nov. 6 by Robin Brock with Allie Beth Allman & Assoc. for $529,000 (it just came back on the market yesterday after doing under contract).
