Dallas Custom Build By Desco Fine Homes Comes With Feng Shui Flair

A custom-made home in Dallas is an architectural dream to behold. This four-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bath home with game room and pool was built by Daltxrealestate.com Approved Builder Desco Fine Homes at the request of some private clients who wanted a house that followed feng shui design principles while also incorporating their own unique style. Everything from the flow of the stairway to the design elements that stay consistent throughout the home to gradient of the yard from front to back was designed with feng shui in mind.

The house starts with custom-made, double-entry doors that are about a foot wider and a foot taller than standard double doors. Their rectangular motif is reflected in several accent pieces throughout the house, including the decorative railing that accompanies the stairs to the upper level.

“We tried to replicate the same themes throughout the house so you don’t feel like you’re walking from one house to another,” said the home’s designer, Christina Garcia of Dallas Design Group.

The great room and adjacent kitchen have the same 23-foot ceilings that greet you on the entrance, but several subtle visual cues tie the tall ceilings in with the rest of the room so the room doesn’t feel like an empty warehouse. The pendant LED chandelier, for example, not only matches the height of the room but also adds a contemporary accent to the space. The column above the fireplace also creates a sense of drama with wood paneling that reaches all the way to the ceiling. A few inset grooves provide just the right amount of detail to make the piece feel decorative rather than just a slab of wood. The porcelain tile around the fireplace itself was imported from Italy and chosen because it looks like marble.

The main kitchen of the house comes with a center island and high-end appliance,s plus granite countertops that complement the marble flooring. Note how the rectangles of the backsplash harken back to the rectangles at the front of the house and subtly tie in with pattern on the countertops. There are also a few extras that you don’t always find in today’s kitchens.

“We added a warming drawer and a trash compacter, which we don’t normally do,” said lead builder David Goettsche.

A second kitchen or scullery just off to the side of the main kitchen provides a place for more prep work when the owners host large parties. Or it can be a place to do all the messy work and close the door so you can serve everything out in the open.

A first-floor master bedroom that looks out onto the huge backyard was a must for these homeowners. This picture is a great example of the tall windows found throughout the house. They’re all commercial grade thermal windows to provide great insulation while still allowing plenty of light to stream through.

A stunning master bath that rivals any high-end hotel bathroom is decked out in marble and soft hues to create a relaxing atmosphere. Once again we see the designer touch of bringing in the rectangle theme in both the soaking tub and the accent tiles on the dividing wall.

There are two custom-designed master closets, the one we have pictured is specifically designed for safekeeping of the owner’s large collection of formal wear.

We have a few more pictures of this amazing build. Keep scrolling through to see the formal powder room with eye-catching onyx sink the upstairs master game room and an open-plan landing that will most likely be turned into an exercise room. We also have a peek inside the sophisticated study for you.
