Editor’s Note: Chris Carter is one of four candidates seeking the Dallas City Council District 10 seat vacated by Councilman Adam McGough due to term limits. Carter is running against Brian Hasenbauer, Kathy Stewart, and Sirrano Keith Baldeo.

I’m 60 years old. My family has lived in District 10 (Lake Highlands) for 57 years. I graduated from Lake Highlands High School in 1981. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1985.

I worked on Wall Street in New York City from 1987 to 2010. I was an independent international investment broker from 2010 up until the pandemic in 2020. I lived in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Mexico City.

I am running on a pro-police, anti-corruption platform.

With inflation at 40-year highs and rising interest rates, it is imperative that we solve the seemingly intractable issues facing the city.

First among those is giving our rank-and-file police officers an across-the-board 30 percent pay raise.

Second is the immediate termination of corrupt city manager T.C. Broadnax. In addition, we need a thorough review of Dallas Animal Services, where they are exterminating over 500 dogs a month due to the incompetent management of Melissa Weber.

daltxrealestate.com has extended an invitation to all Dallas City Council candidates to share with our readers why they’re seeking public office. Want to announce your candidacy? Email us at [email protected].
