Fulfilling a Famous Architect’s VisionAt Last, Flexible Luxury Options For Leasing Downtown

In 1986, one of Dallas’ most dramatic high-rise structures made its debut, forever changing the city’s skyline — Fountain Place, a 58-story office building designed by the legendary I.M. Pei and Harry Cobb, who also designed Dallas City Hall and Meyerson Symphony Center. The tower, crafted of emerald green glass with a distinct crystalline shape, soon became the architectural talk of the town during an incredible growth period for Dallas.

Plans were made for a second tower but they were put on indefinite hold as Dallas real estate ended the decade overtaken by one of the worst commercial real estate recessions in the city’s young history.

Fast forward to 2020, in a vibrant downtown Dallas environment home to almost 13,000 residents. The second tower finally emerged and welcomed its first residents.

The residential reinterpretation of the original second iconic high rise was developed by AMLI Residential. The 45-story high-rise shared many characteristics with the Pei original, including sweeping downtown views and vistas of the Trinity River, The Perot Museum, and the beautiful Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge — which didn’t even exist in 1986!

Fulfilling a Famous Architect’s Vision

With their natural spaciousness, the apartment homes filled quickly during the pandemic. The building occupied the same space the original Fountain Place architects envisioned for expansion. It integrated flawlessly into the 1.7-acre base outdoor plaza design, replacing a surface parking lot. Three hundred sixty-six spacious luxury residences came alive, complemented by a sparkling pool deck and outdoor lounging areas built atop the lower-level parking garage. A 1.7-acre outdoor plaza joins the two towers for a seamless transition.

AMLI Fountain Place is 45 stories of luxurious living with intelligent design woven into every square inch. Designed to LEED Gold certification standards, the structure boasts an abundance of amenities that make living convenient, purposeful, and uplifting. First, there are unprecedented views because of the unique, unobstructed location overlooking the Trinity. There are landscaped terraces, gardens and paths that put the “walk” in walkability, a pool with private cabanas, private workspaces, and a GOLFZON simulator. There is a dog park, a dog grooming/crafts-building room for those scout and school projects or budding artists, state-of-the-art workout facilities, entertainment spaces, plus a host of other concierge-managed services seen at the priciest condos in town a few blocks away.

To top it all off, the entire building is loaded with inspiring works of art.

There are even special monthly curated events for residents, including AMLI Fountain Place’s “Live in Art” vision, which brings in and showcases local, national, and international artists.

Most residences average a little over 1,200 square feet, but AMLI Fountain Place also has 12 luxury penthouses at the top of the building, with expansive views of the architectural jewels surrounding the building, including Klyde Warren Park. The penthouses range in size from a one-bedroom at 1,837 square feet to a spacious three-bedrooms at 3,383 square feet. The interior design prospects are endless.

As for interior amenities, they are abundant and precisely what is found in any multi-million-dollar estate home; 36-inch Thermador gas ranges, beautiful Italian custom cabinetry, stone countertops, floor-to-ceiling insulated windows, spacious closets with shelving and storage, spa-experience bathrooms all partaking of the glorious views. There are built-in wine refrigerators, balconies, soaking tubs, shrubs, and solar shades.

At Last, Flexible Luxury Options For Leasing Downtown

“It is an exhilarating experience to wake up every morning with the city of Dallas on full display as far as the eye can see,” says Taylor Bowen, President of AMLI Development Company. “The sweeping views of downtown, of course, existed when the first Fountain Place tower was built in 1986, but the city has matured so much over the last 40 years, there is much more now to take in. From the skyline to the Trinity River and the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, you can even make out Texas Stadium and Fort Worth west of the city on clear days.”

There are no better views from any other home in downtown Dallas. At AMLI Fountain Place, select penthouses are now available to the discerning homeowner who chooses to lease either short or long-term and enjoy the daily inspiration of living in the clouds.

The very best news is that you can actually try living at AMLI Fountain Place without the long-term commitment of ownership. Try it, you might like it and find living in the clouds is the very best way to experience Dallas.
