When previewing homes for the next Tarrant County Tuesday, I sometimes come across a home that I don’t want to leave. Sometimes I’ll even scheme a way to possibly hide in the home and live there forever.
This is one of those homes.
Welcome to the gated enclave of Loch Highland Estates in Arlington. In this two-street community you will find somewhere around 15 luxury homes of different styles and genres. One such home is a French chateau-inspired dwelling of nearly 12,000 square feet. That’s a pretty big home on the inside, plus some fun outdoor spaces on the property as well.
Now can you start to understand why one would want to secretly live there?

Built in 2002, this eight-bedroom (yes, eight bedrooms) home has 11 total bathrooms. I’m not making this up! Of those 11 bathrooms there are six full bathrooms with five half-baths. That’s a lot of hand soap, towels, and toilet brushes for sure!

The description says there are three living areas, but I think there are more than that. The kitchen is smartly placed as the epicenter of the home where other rooms either are connected or can be accessed easily from the kitchen.
Of course, there are the usual rooms. We don’t need to expound on those, such as the formal living and dining rooms and the study. Worth focusing on within this three-story home is the huge den with a full bar, pool table, fireplace, and lounging furniture.

Also on the main level is a craft room — what a dream! It’s an ideal place to do homework (do they even give homework anymore?) or create works of art. An added bonus is now you have one main location where all crayons, markers, glue, and glitter can be found. Trust me, no one likes to find glitter in the wrong place.

The basement of 2600 Royal Glen Drive has the ultimate theater room with rows and rows of comfy seating, a large screen, and even a little stage in case a live performance is needed.

Just when you think you’ve seen all the goodies inside the home, there’s more. Outside the theater room is none other than your very own concession stand. Yes! A concession stand filled with tasty movie treats in your very own home!

Some of you with teenage children might understand that you’re just not as cool and hip and desirable to consort with as you were when they were younger. Let’s just say that when I took my TikTok-consumed teenage Bow Tie Realtor daughter to see this home, she was quite impressed and didn’t roll her eyes at me for at least 20 minutes!
Talk about a major victory for me.
The exterior of the home is just as exciting as the interior. Sitting high on a hill of Arlington (yes, Arlington has hills) the home provides maximum privacy and serenity.
There are a number of exits from the home to the backyard in case you want to swim, shoot hoops, eat a meal, grill food, or play tennis.

This place is so amazing! The views from the backyard overlook miles and miles of tree canopy and beautiful Texas skies. And yet this home is in Arlington — minutes from Interstate 30, Rangers Ballpark, Cowboys Stadium, and Six Flags.

I could go on and on but you just have to see this home for yourself. It is listed by the dynamic duo of Kris Karr and daughter Kendall Kostohryz, who are part of the always-growing Joseph Berkes Group at Williams Trew Real Estate.
The asking price for 2600 Royal Glen Drive is $2.995 million.
If you buy it, I want to spend a week or two a year vacation there. Deal?
