If there’s one thing top Dallas luxury real estate agent Alex Perry relied on perhaps more than anything else in 2021, it had to be his solutions-based mindset.

He wasn’t letting the market, with its low inventory of homes for sale and strong buyer demand, determine the success of his business. While the headlines told a tale of disappointed would-be homebuyers all over the country, he spent his time finding solutions to every challenge that came his way – which led to finding homes for all his buyer clients, even in this tight market.

Perry averaged more than $1 million in sales per day in 2021, totaling more than $375 million in volume for his best year to date and cementing his spot as the leading luxury real estate agent in the region. His goal remains the same: to find the perfect home for his clients before it hits the market, so they’re paying fair market price and not more.

Being able to track down those before-market and private sales has made all the difference.

“If you approach everything with a solutions-based mindset, you succeed,” Perry explained. “There will always be problems. A strong work ethic and knowledge of the market is not a secret. That’s always been the way to succeed in this business.”

Notably, he sold two homes in 2021 offered at more than $20 million, including a home in Volk Estates, the prestigious University Park enclave, that set recent records for Park Cities sales.

He also noted that he couldn’t have closed the sales that he did in 2021 without good relationships with other agents in Dallas and with lenders, home inspectors, title companies and more. It takes a team to get every deal done, he said.

“Collaboration is vital,” he said. “It’s a relationship type of business, and not just with your clients. A lot of times, you get to choose which agents you work with and who you trust in this business, and that’s the least stressful way to get the deal done.”

Working with the leading luxury brokerage in DFW, Allie Beth Allman & Associates, has also helped Perry bring a higher quality of service to his clients.

In addition to brokerage founder Allie Beth Allman and her mentorship – “Allie Beth sets the tone with her work ethic, her morals, the way she does business” – Perry said the leadership of President Keith Conlon and Ellen Sedeno in marketing have provided the tools to take his business to another level.

“People and relationships are the center of my success,” he said. “In 2022, the market could require new strategies, but creating partnerships with people to solve problems will be a constant. That strategy transcends all markets.”
