As former Rangers announcer Mark Holtz once announced at the beginning of every Rangers game: “It’s baseball time in Texas!”

Yes, today is opening day for your Texas Rangers, who meet the Seattle Mariners at 3:05 p.m. today at the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. It’s the first of 162 games for our home team, and considering that half of those games will be played just off Interstate 30 with no mass transit to or from the ballpark from Dallas, perhaps it’s time to start thinking about moving?

If you’re looking for a swanky estate from which you can jet over to the ballpark to put another mark in the win column without the horrendous commute to Arlington, here are the seven most expensive properties from which you can choose:

7-2620-Perkins

7. 2620 Perkins Road, $1.2 million

This “soft Mediterranean” has five bedrooms, three full and one half bath on 1.22 acres right on Lake Arlington. Tons of recreational opportunities inside and out, with a huge dock, screened porch, plus gameroom and bar. If you want the feel of a lake house but want to be within a short commute of the ballpark, this one’s for you. Warning: You will either love or hate the master bath, which has the most fun, glass-front doors on the closets so you can feel like you’re shopping when you’re getting dressed. Then there’s that statue! I love it, as it makes me feel like I am soaking in the lobby of Caesar’s Palace.

6-2340-Perkins-1024x683

6. 2340 Perkins Rd., $1.299 million

From the street, this brick traditional looks like a classic estate, with tall, half-fan-topped windows and stunning right angles on this two-story facade. Inside you’ll find even more traditional decor throughout the 9,688 square feet. You get six bedrooms, seven full baths, and three fireplaces. This, too, is a waterfront property, and it has one of the most fun themed basements ever. You’ll need to click through, but I’ll give you a hint: Sock hop, anyone? Also, doesn’t the exterior kind of remind you of the ballpark?

5-2619-Hemingway

5. 2619 Hemingway Dr., $1.425 million

Talk about getting a big bang for your buck! This contemporary home is nestled into the side of a cliff with a gorgeous pool and hardscape that is perfect for entertaining in all seasons. Just check out that view! Inside you’ll find sleek, contemporary interiors, limestone counters in the kitchen, plus a huge media room and wine cellar. There are four bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths, and more than 6,100 square feet. The master is right up my alley, too — it has a private patio with a spa! Plus, this is a hop, skip, and jump from Ballpark Way. Perfect.

4-7205-Tatum-Renee-Trail

4. 7205 Tatum Renee, $1.49 million

This 1970s soft contemporary has a wide-open single-story floorplan with some cool architectural details throughout. Brick pillars, curved cabinetry, and a wooden screening wall all add depth and character to this Arlington gem. If you love texture, angles, and natural surfaces, you’ll love this home, which comes fully furnished, complete with an out-of-this-world media room and indoor spa! It’s also super close to Ballpark Way!

3-2712-Mark-Twain

3. 2712 Mark Twain Ct., $2.3 million

Just look at this European-style estate in Hampden Woods! With stunning gardens that echo the circular motif all over the gorgeous stone work on this 9,370-square-foot home, plus a sport court and epic pool, and more than three acres of open space … seriously, now that Amazon delivers everything, why leave? There are four bedrooms, six full and one half baths, two kitchens, and a huge media room. Serenity!

2-2500-Stone-Haven-1024x683

2. 2500 Stone Haven, $3.234 million

Here’s what you need: A beautiful, spacious European-style estate in coveted Loch Highlands Estates. Why? Because you get EVERYTHING in this house. Seriously, y’all — six bedrooms, nine full baths, almost 12,000 square feet, a grand foyer, arched exposed beams, an open floor plan, epic master suite, a huge backyard with pool … What more could you want? Plus, it’s one of the closer properties to the ballpark!

1-8110-Russell-Curry-1024x512

1. 8110 Russell Curry, $3.3 million

This home is advertised as an equestrian property, and though it’s technically inside Arlington’s limits, this 36-acre property is the furthest one from the ballpark. You get a private pond, a huge five-bedroom house, a tennis court, office, 11-stall barn, tack and feed room, guest house, staff quarters above six-stall stable … the list goes on! Of course, if you’re looking for proximity to the ballpark, you’re better off elsewhere. But if you want a gorgeous property for you and your horses to enjoy, this is it!
