Colonial on Colorado Has Amazing Details

This red brick beauty at 1818 W. Colorado is one of Stevens Park Estates original Colonial-styled estates. Built in 1935, this gorgeous home was a real trendsetter. Today it is just as stylish, with three bedrooms, four baths, a detached two-car garage, and a gated drive.

The exterior of the home has been kept as true to period as possible, says owner John D. Murray of Dallas City Center Realtors, who has listed this beautiful 3,720-square-foot estate in one of Dallas’ most sought after neighborhoods for $775,000. The roof sports Ludowici tile that has a earthy patina you’d expect from a similar property in New England, and the curb appeal is unreal thanks to the expansive front lawn and lush landscaping. Inside, though, it’s colorful and full of texture and light.

If you think you’ve seen this home before, you have. We featured it more than a year ago and for the life of us we can’t understand why it’s still on the market. It’s perfect for an executive relocation, considering it’s practically a blink from downtown. Not only that, but you’re close to the Bishop Arts District, Trinity Groves, and Stevens Park Golf Course.

“The hiking and biking path known as Coombs Creek Trail is being extended along Kessler Parkway and will soon reach Colorado Blvd., providing lovely views of the Stevens Park Golf Course, which is one of the most picturesque courses,” Murray said.

There’s public transit, too, should you find yourself in need. The D-Link buses make circuits through North Oak Cliff, and there’s the streetcar that can take you or your guests downtown. And did we mention that there’s a guest house? There is, and it’s lovely.

Of course, if you want to relax, the master suite is the perfect spot. The master bath is humongous, and every detail is just perfect, right down to the fireplace.
