Grand Old Flag Down On The FarmThat Backyard, Though

Dallas’s housing inventory remains low, but we scoured the area for a few spots that might offer a little something special for the upcoming Fourth of July weekend.

Whether it’s a sweet swimming pool, a kitchen built for entertaining, or a big backyard — or in the case of Windsor Ridge, all three — these homes will meet your family’s needs this holiday and for those to come.

Which of these Daltxrealestate.com Open Houses of the Week will you tour?

Grand Old Flag

Volunteers in Irving will start next week planting more than 40,000 American flags in front of homes, businesses, and places of worship to celebrate Independence Day and show some patriotic solidarity. So while you’re out and about enjoying the 30th annual “Great Flag Caper” along the city’s 10-mile MacArthur Boulevard, make an appointment to swing by the amazing house at 4405 Windsor Ridge Drive.

The $3.5 million home has six bedrooms and nine baths sprawled out across 8,700 square feet.

The gourmet kitchen, two game rooms, glass-encased wine cellar, and backyard oasis with outdoor kitchen make this the best party house in town.

We don’t blame you for wanting to plant your flag at Windsor Ridge and stay for a while — but don’t forget to check out Command Central for the Great Flag Caper on the front porch of Nell Anne Hunt’s home at 3704 Hidalgo St. The event theme is “We don’t live in America. America lives in us.”

Tours of 4405 Windsor Ridge Drive are scheduled by appointment through Realtor Brad Crouch with Engel & Volkers Dallas Southlake.

Down On The Farm

This four-bedroom on an acre in the country is definitely another good spot for a Fourth of July gathering.

We’re not talking about a bad-neighbor, frat-house party, just a good gathering place for people to mingle, eat in a spacious kitchen, and let the kids run around out back — or even out front. It’s the country, after all.

The home at 810 Hill St., Farmersville, listed at $430,000, features energy-efficient upgrades, interior insulation, and a three-car garage with an attached side room to use as a workshop, home gym, or storage area.

Peach trees, flower beds, and rose bushes will lure the family and guests to the great outdoors. The front porch invites visitors to sit and chat with a glass of lemonade. A backyard fire pit is perfect for roasting s’mores or gathering to sing and laugh with friends.

The roof and cedar fence are brand new. And don’t worry about the lawn; the property comes with a 46-inch Husqvarna riding lawn mower.

Realtor Virginia Diaz with Vickles Real Estate Group Inc.  is hosting an open house from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 25.

That Backyard, Though

The Old East Dallas home at 727 Lipscomb Ave. has a large backyard perfect for an above-ground pool, games, and barbecues.

Built in 1924, this home has numerous updates. Just in the past four years, the concrete driveway has been replaced, a new concrete patio was installed in the backyard, and new steps were built at the back door. The sewer line is new, and a gas line was extended to the fireplace. While it doesn’t seem like the right time for a fire, those gas logs will come in handy in the fall.

Perhaps the best part is that the Lipscomb lair is on an 8,400-square-foot lot.

And the updates go on and on: a new gas line from the meter to the house, a new gate to the alley between the garage and fence, new paint, and updated water lines with good pressure and no leaks. The foundation was inspected by Substructure Repairs Inc., with a lifetime, transferable warranty.

The home features landscaping in that massive backyard, and new interior paint.

The two-bedroom, two-bath is listed for $675,000.

Realtor Michael Crane is showing the home from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 25.
