Meet The Women Behind 7602 Roper Street

This is a fun one, Gang, so let’s get to it. And first of all, big @s to Coldwell Banker Realty’s Alex Prins for tagging us and bringing this dynamic quad-team to our attention. Oh, you only see three people in the photo? Keep reading to discover the fourth, because this team is like the next-gen PowerPuff Girls.

The team I’m referring to is Jennifer Murray, Daniela Mendoza, Yelitza Mora and Yelitza’s sister, Alejandra Mora.

Jennifer’s company is MJS. She’s a co-investor and co-partner with her husband, Stewart. She started her career in sales, moved into development, and now is working on yet another career — artist. You’ll see some of her work in Roper Street. MJS has completed remodels and new builds in Canada and abroad.

Daniela is the contractor with a civil engineer background. Perfectionist? Just a touch. Yelitza is Daniela’s partner and also has a background in sales. And Alejandra? Well, she’s the designer of the bunch, formerly of cake decorating fame. Now she puts that artistic eye to work bringing interiors to life. Together they make up BuildTX Solutions.

Jennifer and Daniela met one year ago by chance. Jennifer moved from Quebec and was looking for a property to remodel and market. She met Daniela at the property she’d been eyeing and was so impressed that even when the first deal fell through, she knew they’d work together soon.

Not much later, Jennifer purchased a small house on a huge lot on Roper Street in the super trendy Bluffview south area. Jennifer had hopes of gutting and restoring the small house on the property, but Daniela, again, a civil engineer and voice of reason, said that was a no go. It was in such bad shape she said it’d be more cost-effective to tear it down and start fresh. That completely new construction is this property you’re peeping right now —7602 Roper Street.

It’s a dreamy Modern Farmhouse with design details that are a fresh take on current trends. There are five bedrooms, four bathrooms, and two stories of well-appointed whites, grays, and warm woods thrown in for texture.

Jennifer has nothing but glowing reviews for BuildTX. She said one of the things she loved the most is dang, these women are on top of it. They’re organized, efficient and take care of everything before you even think of it. She was blown away by Daniela’s ability to keep everything on track, never ever miss a detail AND manage multiple projects at once. Jennifer also said that in a pinch, Daniela can wield a nail gun.

Alejandra created not one, not two but four versions of finish out for Jennifer to choose from. Yelitza explained that Alejandra works with the clients to get an idea of the look they’re going for. She’s done everything from completely black interiors to Modern Farmhouse with NO SHIPLAP as a mandate. And she always makes it happen.

As for all the tile patterns in the shower, on the floors and even gracing the walls? Alejandra leaves zero opportunity for error. She essentially stencils it on the wall so all the tile guys (and gals) have to do is come in, set it and grout it. So simple, so smart.

Daniela and Yelitza started BuildTX about five years ago when they noticed a need in the marketplace. They kept meeting contractors that made them realized they could do that, and they could probably even do it better. They started with renovations and now they’re capable of doing it all with a focus on whole-house, take-it-to-the-studs, gut jobs. BUT they’re open to the occasional smaller scale kitchen and bath remodel, too.

If you’d like to see their incredibly hard work in person, reach out to Prins. He has 7602 Roper Street listed at $1,150,000.
