Dallas Cowboys Ownership-Backed Brokerage Launches Sports & Entertainment Division Working with Athletes, Entertainers

By Rick Mauch

Having the money to buy a house anywhere in the world doesn’t mean folks in the sports and entertainment world don’t also need help finding that perfect home.

That’s why the @properties Christie’s Sports and Entertainment Division was created. It is a network of real estate agents that specialize in providing top-tier services to clients in the dynamic world of sports and entertainment.

“With a proven track record of success, we have built a reputation as a trusted partner, delivering customized solutions that meet the unique needs of our clients,” said Erica Grandin, Director of Marketing. Whether it is relocating around the world or looking at investments in a local market, our clients in the sports and entertainment industry have unique opportunities, which require expert experience from a real estate professional.”

Realtor Kim Moore provides such experience. Not only does she know real estate, she knows the sports world. Her youngest son is a professional baseball player, she has a cousin who was a pitcher in Major League Baseball for many years, her husband played polo for several years, and she attests to “a lot of amazing friends who are rodeo athletes and musicians.”

“Assisting professional athletes in their real estate endeavors is not just about the properties, it’s about the journey and the people. Working with athletes in this context has given me a unique perspective on their determination, discipline, and drive for excellence,” Moore said. “I’ve had the privilege of getting to know athletes beyond their sports persona. We’ve built genuine relationships grounded in trust and shared goals.”

Moore said such relationships are about understanding the athlete/entertainer aspirations, supporting their well-being and ultimately becoming a trusted partner in their success. These relationships have been characterized by respect, professionalism, and an appreciation for the dedication it takes to excel in both the world of sports/entertainment and real estate.

“It’s a journey that I cherish. One that allows me to combine my passion for real estate with the genuine joy of helping remarkable individuals achieve their dream on and off the field,” Moore said.

The challenges a pro athlete or entertainer can face when looking for a new home often involve changing scenery — and sometimes in a hurry. Particularly with athletes, who often find themselves moving to a new city with a new team, the challenge becomes even more heightened.

Jerry W. Mooty, Jr. is CEO and Principal of the Texas @properties Christie’s International Real Estate offices. He is also Jerry Jones’ nephew. Yes, THAT Jerry Jones.

“I have been involved with the Cowboys and around professional athletes for the last 35 years, so I truly understand the sensitivity that goes along with representing these clients. Identity of the client is usually kept out of the negotiation and confidentiality, or non-disclosure agreements are involved to protect the integrity of the parties,” states Mooty.

“Constant travel, privacy and schedule can be challenging when looking for property. I do a lot of FaceTiming and working with their spouse or parents,” adds Moore.

Moore is a resident of Austin and a third-generation Realtor. She is a new addition to the fast-growing @properties Christie’s Austin Office. And, though she is located in Austin, through Christie’s International Real Estate network, she has access to real estate markets all over the world and can refer clients to top agents worldwide. Mooty, a Realtor and licensed attorney, is a resident of Dallas but operates out of both the Dallas and Austin offices.

Mooty and Moore are two of seven Realtors designated as specialists in this area. Agents are selected based on their background, client experience, and connections to the industry to become a part of this division.

The Jones family, owners of the Dallas Cowboys, are backers of @properties Lone Star Christie’s International Real Estate, known as the world’s preeminent luxury real estate brand. The firm has launched brokerages in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Austin markets. This unique life-long connection to a professional sports empire puts the real estate team at a distinct advantage when understanding the needs of sports and entertainment clients.
