There are two ways to write this story. We could tell you how the Douglas Elliman brokerage, brand new to Dallas, brought their selling star power to Kessler West last night as part of the new North Oak Cliff community’s open house launch.

Or, we can dish the dirt on Fredrik Eklund’s whirlwind visit to Kessler West like the true Bravo fan girls we are, just as soon as we slip off these heels. Oof, we’re out of practice.

The Million Dollar Swede hit three states Thursday with his top-producing Eklund-Gomes team in tow. Sitting down to dish on Dallas with our fearless leader Candy Evans, Eklund said he started his day well before dawn at home in LA, eager to spend the day in big D visiting two of the hottest properties around – Hall Arts in the Dallas Arts District and Kessler West in North Oak Cliff.

By 6, Eklund was dashing to DFW in time for his 7 p.m. flight to New York, where he’d land about midnight and trade his navy blazer for something a little more fabulous. He was headed to an undisclosed location in NYC to party with Madonna.

Now, he whispered that last part, but we’re writing this as Fredrik is no doubt knee-deep in downtempo house beats and beautiful strangers, so I think we’re past the statute of limitations here. A little web sleuthing revealed Madonna was partying for Pride on the 18th floor of The Standard, open for one night only.

Thursday’s Kessler West launch brought together the Eklund-Gomes real estate team of Eklund, Julia Spillman, and John Gomes, the luxury brokerage Douglas Elliman Texas, and developer Matt Holley of GroundFloor Development. The Craighead Green Gallery loaned several pieces for an art installation, featuring the blown glass of Simon Waranch. Scott + Cooner provided the furniture.

Kessler West’s community of modern townhomes is located at 610 N. Oak Cliff Blvd., atop the sloping intersection of Oak Cliff and Davis — where hills give rise to unparalleled views of the downtown Dallas skyline. Twelve Hills Nature Preserve is tucked just behind here, next to the award-winning neighborhood of Kessler Woods — another GroundFloor Development creation.

See Kessler West for yourself at an open house this weekend from 11 a.m to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The community is moving fast towards completion of phase 1, including a block of seven two-story townhomes, for summer move-in. The 2,964-square-foot homes will have three bedrooms, three and one-half baths, and a rooftop deck with an unbelievable view. The three-story townhomes will have 3,103 square feet with three bedrooms and three and one-half baths. When complete, the new community, located at W. Davis Street and N. Oak Cliff Blvd., will consist of 20 townhomes and a luxury boutique midrise containing 28 condos.

Douglas Elliman brought the Eklund-Gomes team, internationally known icons on Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing and recent winners of the 2021 ICON Award from Douglas Elliman, as part of its continued Texas market rollout. The luxury brokerage entered Houston in 2019, and made plans to enter Dallas and Austin in due time. However, the sheer heat of Dallas’ real estate market pushed up their timeline and Douglas Elliman Texas launched Dallas in April this year.

Founded in 1911, Douglas Elliman Real Estate has more than 7,000 agents working out of more than 100 offices in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Florida, California, Colorado, Massachusetts, and Texas.
